Thought I might try this relatively new Winnipeg restaurant. Although the ambiance is unique to the city, the food isn’t gourmet. The venison was deeply breaded and almost«gummy». The venison meat seemed rubbery and dry. The side of risotto was also not cooked to perfection. Perhaps it was an off night, but given the price points it should be crafted at a higher standard. On a positive note, they do have their own Sommelier and he provided me with good+ service in terms of wine selections and a perspective on their philosophy of cultivating wines and related pairings. Sorry, but I can’t recommend at this time. Enjoy Winnipeg!

Food was delicious with choices for anyone, staff was friendly and very accommodating even if we arrived in less than fancy attire. Every seat in the house is great as it revolves ;)

My husband and I have been going to Prairie 360 for our anniversary since it reopened 2 years ago — the night time view is spectacular and the wait staff amazing. Our meal had its highs but unfortunately my meal was very disappointing. We began our meal with the bruschetta appetizer which was delicious, my husband greatly enjoyed one of the soups of the day, beer and cheese, for his main meal he had their special pork chops which he said was very good. I was very much looking forward to their pickerel, we often venture out to Gimli to enjoy the pickerel at Shelly D’s so I know how pickerel should taste /be cooked, I asked for the chef to fry the fish in butter only and leave off the vinaigrette as I wanted to enjoy the pickerel, what I received was very disappointing the pickerel was overly seasoned with pepper and was very dry it didn’t taste like pickerel at all more like white fish. I let our server know about my disappointment and was offered something else from the menu, I opted for their other soup special a vegetable which sadly was overly salted(I did not say anything as I didn’t want to put a darker cloud on my anniversary dinner) but I was surprised they charged us for my soup. We ended our meal with the semifreddo dessert which is to die for, since it was our anniversary they did not charge us for it. We will be back but not for the pickerel.

The reno looks cheap, the décor is lacking, the food is expensive and there is no flavour… the view is spectacular.

In town from Denver, went to Prairie 360 to do the«touristy» thing, amazing view of Winnipeg and good food but more importantly Sham was an amazing waiter with a great depth of Winnipeg history knowledge and even better advice of things to do and see.

I had high hopes for this place but with the bland overpriced food we will not be going back. A big disappointment.

Unfortunately, like many other revolving restaurants around the world, Prairie 360 is no different. You will receive an average yet overpriced meal for which you’re actually paying for the view and not the entrée. In navigating the awkward side entrance and two elevator trips, you’re brought to a modest and aging ding area. Complete with the typical centre column that includes the kitchen, bar, and restrooms. The tables sit on a one-rotation-per-hour conveyor belt. Architecturally the restaurant has one major flaw; the lighting and the angle of the slanted viewing windows has been set so that the giant glow from the reflection of the ceiling chandeliers obstruct the natural view outside. As for the meal, I was presented with a 6 oz glass of house merlot that I almost sent back, and would have, if I had known it came to the tidy price of $ 18(before taxes). I ordered the vegetarian special, an overloaded and soggy lasagna, to which the word bland came to mind. I did notice my partner enjoyed a much more flavourful $ 42 steak — but for that price and for steak, it shouldn’t be a difficult task for any«high end» restaurant. My other friends in our party of 6 was not overly impressed and I doubt we’ll return unless the food improves or the prices come down. Not much hope for the latter, but I am always a willing participant for a good meal.

We arrived for an early reservation so it was not too busy but it did fill later. I mention this because it gave us time to listen to Stan. He by himself could get a place 5 stars. Great descriptions of the food and preparation. Two of us had the Wellington(pork) and two Venison scaloppine. All loved the food. The pastry wrap was very light and the honey reduction really highlighted each bite. I think the pork could have been a little more tender but this was a minor point. The flavor was right on. We also had beef carpaccio and also the prawns. Both very tasty. Overall a great view great service and great food

Sunday evening 8 of us wined n dined at the 360. We all enjoyed the experience and will definitely be returning. It’s expensive but you can’t complain about the view.

It is really unfortunate that our first experience at Prairie 360 was so disappointing. I was so happy to hear that the revolving restaurant would be revived with a concept that focuses on higher end local cuisine. First off, our party arrived about 20 mins late for our reservation. Yes, our bad but it was after that huge dumping of snow in late December and the roads were super slick. Compounded by the fact that it was like –45 and there was no indoor parking left at the nearby Fort Garry Hotel so we had to drive around looking for close parking(we ended up on fort just north of Broadway). And remember there’s no indoor walkway between Fort Garry Hotel and 83 Garry Street, which is the building directly behind the hotel. So that 20 mins late including the circling around. Anyhow, when we arrived, you end up on the 28th floor where the lounge and host/hostess are. They take your coats there and then someone personally takes you up another elevator to the 30th floor where the actual dining room is. Yes, we were late but for good reason(we had made reservations) yet our table was given away! If you have our number, why don’t you call us to check if we are on our way. I always make a point of calling and cancelling my reservations if I can’t go so I think it should be reciprocated. So then the hostess tells our party that it’s okay because they found another comparable table and we can just wait for it to be «set up.» To me, set up means something like 5 mins — clearing, cleaning and setting up. Nope, we ended up waiting another 20 mins. The best part is when we got up stairs, the restaurant was 60% full! There were empty tables around the perimeter of the dining room yet we were made to wait that whole time. Very annoying and perplexing. I would have understood more if the place was completely full. So 2 big misses already and we haven’t even eaten here yet. I don’t remember the old room as much as it was years ago but it seems like they made some minor updates. Nothing drastic but really the star of the room is the view. You do feel the room moving(not drastically) but we definitely circled the city a few times when we were there. Another miss was how bright the room was lit in the evening. There was such a glare off the windows which distracted the view. They dimmed the lights closer to 8 pm but why not when the sun sets? Service was hit and miss. Our server was trying hard and made recommendations so at least she’s tried the food. Fresh bread was delicious though when she offered another round and we agreed, the bread never appeared. The menu is meant to reflect the city and the changing demographics so there were local products like MB pike, venison, and flavours like Indian, Filipino, Ukanian. I get the concept but the menu felt a little too random. Appys $ 10-$ 24 and dinner mains are $ 22-$ 45 with items from the grill $ 28-$ 42. The«Chicken 3 ways($ 10)» was recommended — rezala, savoury & spicy satay, butter chicken. It wasn’t mentioned that rice would come with it(see pic) so to me this looks more like a small plate dinner not an appy that’s easily shared. Dish was fine but nothing stood out. I had the whole marinated cornish game hen($ 28) which a generous serving of mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. This was a really good dish though just a tad salty. The hen was cooked perfectly and so juicy. I’d order this again. Unfortunately my husband and our friend ordered the venison scallopini($ 29) — sweet marsala wine sauce, creamy black pearl barley mushroom and leek risotto, paired with seasonal vegetables. Ok, no where in the description did they say«battered» because when you see scallopini you know it means a thinly pounded piece of meat that’s lightly floured and sauteed in a pan. Well, here, their version of scallopini is baffling. I actually thought it was a mistake and they were served fish n chips because that’s what it looked like(see pic). What they got was a heavily battered scalloppini where the batter was soggy and inside was a thin piece of rubbery venison. It looked terrible. And to top it off the risotto was thick and gummy — it literally was stuck like a ball. Now, the good parts of the place was their wine selection — excellent diverse choices. And they have a whiskey bar with whiskey flights available. The sommelier is very knowledgeable and friendly. I’d recommend the 28th floor lounge, the place was pretty full by around 10 pm as there was someone performing that night and had a good vibe. The staff were good at soliciting feedback and acknowledged that things weren’t going that well. My question is, if they know, the venison was bad, why not remove it altogether from the menu? That doesn’t seem like a difficult task. Anyways, I loved the view and ambiance was nice despite the many misses. I’ll come back to the lounge but the dinner part will have to wait a bit.

My main issue with this restaurant is the service. I go out for lunch at a downtown establishment with coworkers weekly and I must say, this is by far the worst place I’ve been yet. It is unreasonable to expect a small group, who has called ahead and made reservations, to wait 45 minutes to 1 hour before having someone come to the table to take our food order. Sure the waitress made an appearance twice during that time, once after sitting there for about 20 minutes to take drink orders and bring water, the second to bring refills and take our order another 30 minutes later. This happened once near the opening of this restaurant and again a month later. Second problem is the food. The menu is very limited, no appetizers for those who are not hungry enough for a full-sized meal. I had the hunter burger the first time, which I did not really like(could just be personal preference so I can’t fault them for this). However, a pet peeve of mine at any restaurant is being served cold hard fries, which happened to myself as well as two others. The second time I went I had the smoked chicken soup. I was so disappointed. I did not order miso soup, but somehow ended up with a bowl of broth and a few noodles on the bottom. There were maybe a couple small pieces of chicken, but to say half a dozen would be pushing it. If you are going to make someone wait nearly 1 hour and 45 minutes before being served any type of food, I really feel like they should be offering bread, especially for the prices they are charging. I really hope that this restaurant closes soon and a ‘real’ one is opened up in its place. The location has great potential. Unfortunately, the menu is small, no appetizers, not even a piece of bread to keep you going for the nearly 2 hour delay it takes them to put food on the table. I’ve gone for lunch twice now. After the first disaster I did want to give it another chance as they had just opened, but after the second time with little change, I am sure to tell everyone I know not to waste their time or money on this place.
