If you’re a Canadian history buff, Louis Riel House is a must-see. Riel lived here for a bit, before he went off and started his 2nd uprising(Northwest Rebellion). He did return here in a casket after his hanging. Parking is available in a small lot by the house, but this is fenced off in the winter. Not that it matters since the snow is waist-deep. If you got here in the winter, there is also street parking. As the museum itself is only open in the summer, I will say that the outside is very pretty indeed. The really strange thing about this landmark is that it’s smack in the middle of modern suburbia. People live across the street, as well as next to this building. If Riel were alive today, he’d probably be shooting hoops with the neighbours and checking out their pickup trucks, and probably trying to figure out where to get some good bubble tea. Okay I digress. Come by and explore some Canadian history.
