I recently visited The Round Table Pembina to fulfill a steak craving. Overall, my date and I had a decent experience. The entrance to get into the restaurant parking lot was a bit deceiving, I could see it being an issue for some. However, we cannot fault the Round Table for this. So this is just something to keep in mind when deciding to dine here. The design inside the restaurant did a very good job of giving off a medieval feel. We also feel kind of ripped of that the tables were not very round!(Kidding) The location we were seated in felt a little tight. Mind you, we were in a corner of a room with a large party already seated. We also did not make a reservation for the table so this may be the explanation for it. The server was friendly, however it could have been sharper and a little quicker. We asked for an explanation of one of the appetizers and he proceeded to describe only the portion size and that it was deep fried. Not much of a help. We started off with the fish cakes as an appetizer. It was quite delicious. It had some salmon in it, and it went well with the sauce baked into the fish cake. Big portion for an appetizer as well. My date and I both ordered the ribeye steak. I ordered it medium rare and the center wasn’t overwhelmingly pink, just the way I like it. I was disappointed by the butter seared shrimp and mashed potatoes though. For the $ 35 entrée I felt it could have been more flavorful or even plated better. Overall, the Round Table had an amazing strip of steak and a unique medieval atmosphere. However, the details could be shored up a bit to really enhance the dining experience.

I probably had one of the worst service experiences of my life. I had a server named«Buffy» and during the first two hours had a couple drinks and then 50 minutes go by and we had 3 people added to our table, however, no one came by to help us until we started asking other servers where our server was. We were told by another server that she would go and find him for us. That sadly did not happen, finally he came out around 10 minutes later which is when he assumed we were gonna ask for our bills but we had not yet ordered for the extra 3 people. Overall they should probably relook at there serving staff because I had a terrible time and I usually love the Round Table.

Had a decent enough time here. Décor is definitely evocative of a old timey british pub. I only saw the«great room» in pictures after, but I would definitely come back to shoot some billiards and drink some pints on the lounge side. If you’re coming here for the food though, you’re coming here for one reason — the prime rib. Plates come with au jus and Yorkshire pudding — no gravy. Local beer is on tap from Half Pint, so that was a plus. Enjoyed the prime rib, couldn’t really say I was that crazy about the appetizers(crab cakes, cheese pot, calamari)

I had lunch today with a client here … it was handy to their office. I ordered the Steakhouse Burger and fries. The burger was good as was the bun … but the bun was really greasy on the bottom and I had to keep wiping my hands. Yuk! The fries could have been hotter and were nothing special and I didn’t eat many of them. I wasn’t overly impressed.

When it comes to British food, it really doesn’t get any more authentic than this. I actually felt like I was back in England. They did a really good job decorating inside of this place. You’re not coming here to lose weight or become a hippie. Nope. You’re here to get fat and kill a cow or two. They have the usual fare for appies and pasta, but don’t bother going for those. You want meat. And lots of it. The steaks /prime rib /roast beef come in 4 sizes: Squire(8oz), Knight(12oz), Round Table(16oz), and King Cut(20oz). Oh baby. I went for the prime rib. If you’re a meatatarian, you’ll be in heaven. It wasn’t too fatty(nice and easy to pick out), and came with horseradish and a container of gravy. For vegetables, you get a giant head of broccoli and some carrots. As a side, I had a house salad(other choices are caesar salad, or French onion soup for $ 4 more). Be sure to come here with deep pockets. The meat will set you back $ 35 easily, and you haven’t had a drink yet. For drinks, may I suggest the mini-keg of Alexander Keith’s(some 3L for $ 32). This has to be the cutest mini-keg ever. Washrooms were a bit gross. There was a large puddle at the urinals, and you could tell it wasn’t 100% water. They had a special today: drink Newcastle and get a free glass + T-shirt. Some limited time offer. Oh, and there’s also free pool in the giant Round Table room. All of us definitely packed on a pound or two tonight~ I can totally see why this place was packed on a Tuesday night.

We ended up here after an event and all sat down in the bar for a some drinks and snacks. The nachos we had were good, however I wish they warned us about the peppers they where fresh, but with the seeds still in they were hot. So we washed it down with some of the good wine they recommended. All in all a good time was had the server was good. Sorry I can not speak to most of the menu, but our stay their was good. I do not know if we are coming back any time soon but it is an option.
