Been a big fan of Ben’s General Food Store while they still have it in Bangsar Village, and one of the dishes I must get when I was there would be their salad. However, I feel like the portion of their salads had gone smaller and smaller now. And, it’s quite sad to have the portion of the cod fish salad go that small. However, I still really like their pizzas here and the wide selection that they have. Tried pineapple party pizza lately and the crust is as usual — thin and crisp! Another great thing about this General Food Store is that they have Shucked just beside, which means that you could order some fresh shucked oysters and some nicely grilled salmon as well! We picked one salmon fillet and had it grilled — it was served with some greens on the side, and the salmon was really fresh. Totally worth what’s been paid for! The place is usually crowded though, so if you are there during peak dining hours, expect to wait in the line. And now they also serve grilled chicken, either in half or full chicken, which they will serve with salad on the sides as well. Might want to try that the next visit as the chicken looked great on the next table, slurrrp!

I’m always here for the pizza :) #enufsaid Well not only the pizzas. I also take their salads and pasta at times. I’ve tried their vegetarian pizza and also the non vegetarian ones. They tasted equally awesome! i love their beef pepperoni pizza and also the pesto pizza. Aside from that, the salmon pizza also tasted amazing. The portion for pizza is good enough for 2, or if you want you can also share it with 3 or more people. Adding with another appetizer like a salad will be just nice for 2 pax. The pricing for food is reasonable, at least for the pizza, not the salad though. It’s RM16 for their mini portion of Garden Salad. It’s quite a rip off actually. Just check out the size! The place is rather like an open concept because they are attached to the grocery store. If you are done with grocery you can always secure a spot here for dinner. It’s super convenient :) One thing that annoys me the most will be the waiters. Well we understand that the kitchen is closing and they have last orders and everything. But I did not expect them to come up to us while we’re still eating and ask us to pay on the spot. To be frank, they technically should be waiting till we are done before doing that. And you imagine us using our hands when we eat the pizzas and then you ask us to get cash out from our purse. That feeling? It’s a big nono. I seriously think this service can be improved. Other than that, the food, the ambience, the environment are really great :)

Ben’s is now the definition of style, and the food itself that lays in the transparent stands are extremely tempting. Or not. The price being an non factor, the food itself is less than average. The spaghetti carbonara is average at best, and is not really the freshest of foods to be eaten. Despite the deceptively good looking place(it is stationed in the grocery store), I can only give it a caution for those who dare to venture into this place. That is, of course, if you like novelty and the ambience. I give them an extra star just for that alone.

Taking the entire 2 floors at a corner facing the Publika Square makes this a highly desirable place to hang out. It overlooks the square where it has got a beautiful stage that is often occupied with various performances or events. The restaurant operates as early as 10 in the morning till 10 at night. They serve your typical English breakfast to western to Asian food. And there’s a wide selection of desserts to pamper you after a full meal. Mind you, the price is slightly above average. Their first floor is usually closed but it’s a great place for small events of 80 pax or so. It’s conducive enough for talks and cozy enough for parties. I like how they have well trained staffs who is always ready to serve with a smile. It really adds to the flavor of the food and environment.
