This is one of my favorite brunch spots. I love the food offerings its extensive. My first little miss sunshine kept me coming back again. Coffee is nice(double shot) but it’s sour sometimes. Can be a bit pricy for most people but it’s really worth it for their creativity. Like the Scottish eggs, I love the beets chips.

I don’t know why this place only has 3.5 stars! The menu is very extensive with a ton of healthy options, at very reasonable prices. They have everything from corn fritters with mango, vegetable gnocchi with mussels and open face Danish sandwiches. Everything I’ve tried here is cooked to perfection, and service is reasonably fast unless you come at the height of the lunch time rush. One of my favorite things on the menu are the Turkish eggs, which come with sour dough bread, yogurt, chili oil and chimichuri sauce – i think it’s the perfect hangover cure. The lunch sets are reasonably priced as well, and you get the choice of several menu items, soup and a drink. It’s usually enough food for 2 meals. They also have large tables, with comfortable chairs that are perfect for getting work done.

I ve always loved the idea of Thirdwave, the innovative menu and vibe. But both times I’ve been there, service, while warm, has been slow. Yay for good coffee and scotched eggs, Kay for desserts and warm service, Nay for fishy fried rice and slow service. Go on a day when you have patience! Damn hipsters.

Its a café, but they don’t serve skim or soy milk with your coffee. Nevertheless their cappuccino is amazing. I saw awesome insta pics for brunch, but I was served a cold meal. Once I kindly informed the staff they offered me to warm up my brunch… I’ve never heard of this option in my life. Even if their coffee is nice for those who want to start their morning smoothly I wouldn’t recommend coming here :/antipodean is the ultimate brunch place, it’s official.

If there’s one place in all of KL I would genuinely call my favorite, regular haunt. You’ll probably find me there any given afternoon, working while enjoying either brunch(if I’m up that early) or the generous pasta options. The papardelle carbonara, with its beef bacon bits and 63 degree egg, is divine! I’ve got to admit, I’m not a coffee freak either, but if I were this would be the kind of place I’d go crazy for — with its fancy-looking coffee bar and even fancier coffee recommendations, who wouldn’t? The Kopi-Kola especially seems tempting. PS: in my opinion, the quintessential dish there is the Darling’s Egg. Polenta, mmm.

I go to Third Wave regularly and it’s one of my favourite cafes because it’s got a chill atmosphere, good music, good coffee and the staff are always friendly. It’s the perfect place for reading, studying or getting some work done. The food is mostly good especially the pasta’s but some of the food is a little strange for my liking and the flavours are inconsistent. If only they would step their food game up just a little so I could give them the 5stars because everything else is pretty near perfect.

As I enjoyed working on a weekend on a good café with a good cuppa, i have been looking around Bangsar South for a good place to do that. Was around Nexus in Bangsar South and happened to bumped into Third Wave. It looks exactly like a typical hipster café with pretty good design and environment. The provide a variety of breakfast menu for whole day and of course, good coffee. A little like Artisan, they also have a coffee bar where you can look for coffee making equipments, and also coffee brewing on the spot to your liking. One of the downside of Third Wave is that the food is definitely not up to perfection. Tried this place twice and not once the food satisfied me. Their friend chichken breast is overcooked and too oily. People there are friendly, but that does not help as they are probably not so trained to managed a restaurant. They are extremely packed on Friday lunch time and yet, they are not able to managed all orders properly. Orders missed, did not communicate with customers that some food are sold out, etc. Really dislike this service on Friday lunch time.

I was doing my intern here in Bangsar South and have been spending quite some time in Nexus, the beautiful building just opposite The Sphere. Thirdwave is located on the second floor which can be accessed with the escalator or the elevator from the parking. Oh, did I mention parking is free here? The place here is very cozy, where you can sit down, relax, and chat with friends about life. It doesn’t get crowded with people, so you’ll get some peace and quiet from the noise you’ll face outside of the building. It might not look like it at first, but the food here is pretty amazing. I had the Retro Scotch Egg and the Beef Goulash. Presentation was perfect as it was served, already making it very appetizing. The Scotch Egg was very special to me, as I haven’t seen any dish like this. The egg is surrounded by minced chicken on top of a bed of vegetables. The Beef Goulash, well, really tasty. The thick and smoky beef cubes adds a great taste of umami to the wholesome pasta. Overall, I find this place to be very comfortable to have your meals on a busy day. The price isn’t that expensive, especially for what you’re getting. Free parking, no crowd, what more can you ask for?

I’ve not eaten here before, but I’ve definitely had their drinks. I was in love with their hot and cold brews of coffee. I got my sturdy caffeine fix with their Americano, which tasted really authentic, unlike the ones in sachet forms which you’d get out of most drink outlets and restaurants. I also like their Ice-drip coffee. The tea is pretty good too, a lot of variety and it’s served in a cute teapot. Overall, this place is great for drinks. Not sure about the food though, but according to the menu, seems like it’s worth trying.

I heard about Third Wave from a friend of a friend, you know how that goes. One coffee enthusiast to another, we took up their recommendation and went one weekend after lunch. The interior of Third Wave is gorgeous. You can’t really find places more vintage hipster inspiring than here. Each piece of furniture and display was thoughtful, creating a comfortable ambiance for coffee catch ups and even working remotely, which I did once or twice after. I like the acoustics, great song list the few times I came, and not intrusive at all. It’s there for you to enjoy if you pay attention, but also good background filler if you’re not. The book selection scattered around the café are also among some of my favourite collection such as Tolkien, Jules Verne, JK Rowling. Personally I’m of two minds about the coffee selection here, as it is not über fantastic or different from anywhere else, but good coffee is good. The price range for everything on the menu though, is über expensive. Maybe there is a subtle nuance to the menu served here that I am missing, which anything else only means I do not possess a sophisticated enough taste bud to be satisfied with the price.

My company had an event here where we hosted Jamie Andrew a quadruple amputee mountaineer. The event was a great success as Thirdwave was able to provide the drinks and food at the right price and it could accommodate 80 pax. They could open up the place at 730 in the early morning for us to further prep for the event even though we have been there till 11 the night before. The staffs are all very friendly and accommodating. Besides all that, their coffee is great. A place I would come back and just chill and work offline.

The other day I found this very nice restaurant /coffee shop at Nexus in Bangsar South. I was happy to find it, because it gave me a very nice feeling, the place having a great atmosphere with nice music. What I like about the place is the interior design, which is a little hipster and made me feel great. Here you can have a great coffee or cold drinks or if you are hungry you can have a delicious meal. The coffee here is around RM10 and I tried here the Flat White coffee which was very good. My friend served a meal and I have to say that I was impressed by the design of the plate. Looks like that here, the attention to detail is everywhere… from the walls until your plate. Because the food looked so good, I had to taste it and I have to say that it was amazing. The chef really knows how to use different ingredients, and more important, they know how to present them on a plate. I definitely recommend this place because is also perfect to work from here.

Coffee enthusiats will find Thirdwave a haven for their coffee fix. Thirdwave gets its beans from a variety of sources so if you are up to it, try their different brews. Ordered a flayt white and it came with a beautiful heart on it. The flat had a nice touch to the lips. Menu was pretty extensive as I was intrigued by its name Hidden Gem, I placed an order. And I was happy with it. Who would have thought grilled squid with risonni would taste so good when it’s done well. The squid was served with feta cheese and grilled watermelons. Grilled watermelons are something new to me. Must say the whole dish was excellent ! There are many more choices on the menu that sounded interesting and the description made me drool. Must drop by again sometime!

I love going to THIRDWAVE because the people are friendly and I find that the coffee is always consistent. If you’re serious about coffee, this is definitely a good place for a cuppa. I like the ice-drip coffee best; you have to request for it because they store it in the fridge. But they have this super cool suspended coffee machine to make the ice-drip and I think it’s the best of its kind I’ve tried in KL. I’ve also had tea here before. They serve it the proper way with a teapot, unlike so many other cafes. Their desserts are also pretty unique. They have things like jackfruit tart, elderberry and lavender cake, and Valrhona chocolate raspberry cake. Not all of them are great, but if you land on something that’s freshly made, you’re in luck.
