Loved how they are looking different from usual Korean BBQ restaurants. :) I’m seeing photos of people wearing aprons around and was curious with the way they serve and decided to give them a try. It was a really great experience seeing food being cooked right in front of you and have it served as well. There are options for spicy or non spicy. The non spicy version to me is also a little bit spicy LOL but for those of you who can take spicy, by all means, DOIT :) I like adding Ramen into the existing portion, and eggs as well. I find that it blends well together. Usually with a group of 4 we get 2 sets. It’s seriously way more than enough. Or maybe I’m just a small eater, but yeah it’s really a huge pot to finish! They have some mini wall of fame where you can include your own polaroid pictures and paste it there. Well I’ve seen quite a number of familiar faces there and you may be the next! Create awesome memories here, it’s a really homely place to be. :)

Just dislike it when I leave the place smelling like Dak-Galbi. Minimum order: 2 pax. You can choose to add extra stuff such as rich, ramen, cheese, sweet potato. They also offer korean soup(Ginseng chicken soup, if im not wrong). Water is free including 2 banchan(Kim chi and raw onion) and vegetables.

I had a good experience here the first time I came here. It was raining like mad and there was only my gang of friends in the restaurant. It’s nice to feel like you’re the boss of the place. We took two tables and and each table has got this big massive wok where their staff will cook the food we order. I wasn’t in charge of ordering but I did say I prefer beef. All the food came and they started cooking in front of us. Do beware of the smoke coming out of the wok. They can be very over powering and you will smell like the food. So don’t go make a movie date after a place like this. After the first round of cooking we ordered something else and I had the chance to try cook them as one of the staff went off for a bit. A very fun filled experience with group of friends.

There are too many Korean restaurants that available around KL nowadays and each of the restaurants are trying to be the best. Uncle Jang is not new but still it’s a new experience for me. The services here is great and efficient. So does the environment. Cozy and calm but I wish the foods would taste just the same. The foods here were good but I couldn’t say that it’s the greatest. It’s kinda spicy for a non-spicy food that I ordered and the price is a bit pricey.

I came to Uncle Jang’s first opened store in Malaysia, which is the Solaris Mont Kiara outlet and when I first stepped in I was a bit surprised by the setting. It’s not fancy and poshy but more laid back with rectangular coated steel tables with a big round carbon-like tray to cook your food. The signature dish here is the Korean dakgalbi, which is a mix of vegetable, meat and other items stir fried with Korean chili paste. You can opt to add in additional items in your dakgalbi with food like ramen, toppoki, potatoes and so on. We added cheese topping and it is insanely good. Flaming vegetables and meat with a slight chili fragrance topped with gooey cheesy toppings. The combination was utterly sinful and delicious at the same time. The portion is very big as well so I recommend to take one person off your order, for example three portion for four person dining. Warning, the food is not clean food! The food is very oily and high in calorie so only come during a cheat day. On the pricing, we ordered 2 portion and 3 additional dishes and it costed me about RM75 bucks. Well for the tiny amount of meat I find it tad a bit pricey though. Probably for the concept and also the topokki? Nevertheless, I would come back and makan again!

Uncle jang’s isn’t the fanciest place with pretty décor, tables or chairs. It certainly steals the room with the red aprons. The workers and customers would both be wearing them to avoid the oil and food spilling on their clothes. This place is special for its spicy Korean fried noodles with chicken and vegetable. You can get kimchi with it as well. You will definitely smell after you’re done with the place. But you would be stuffed in happiness, the portions are pretty huge and it’ll get you filled when you just need to pay like 25rm-30rm per person. I think it’s pretty decent for how much you’re going to eat. Service is alright. Parking can be a pain around the area but there’s the basement parking at solaris so it isn’t too bad.

Uncle Jang Korean restaurant serves their signature Korean dish called Dak-Galbi. It’s rather similar to the usual Korean BBQ restaurants you go to just that at Uncle Jang, they cook and stir fry right in front of you. So Dak-Galbi is basically a stir fried mix of fresh chicken meat, Korean rice cakes, cabbage and yam cooked with their home made spicy sauce. On top of that, you can choose to add noodles into your Dak-Galbi. If i’m not wrong they have Udon noodles & Ramen noodles for you to choose from and of course you can add more of the rice cakes instead if you prefer. You can choose the spiciness to suit your taste as well. I think its quite unique and tastes quite good, worth trying!
