Whenever I’m in Solaris area, I will definitely look for some Korean bakeries because their breads and cakes are simply delicious! According to a friend of mine, who is an expert, I was told that there are a few reasons for them to charge at a different price because the flour that they order — prices are really high and most of the chefs are Korean; ingredients are at the top quality. I first encounter this bakery when I passed by and decided to give it a try. The entire place offers like a café concept and it is not only pastries or breads they are selling, they are also selling desserts. The kitchen concept is not a close concept as customers can see through a clear window when they are working or decorating a cake. I’ve fallen in love with the cake as it is so cute! The price is not that expensive too. This is one of the best places that I’ve ever tried so far. If you are coming here, make sure you drive as there is no public transport and parking is also another issue. So brave yourself to look for a parking!

Villa ju Bakery Café(used to called Nabe Bakery Café) is located at the Solaris Mont Kiara, same row with the Brewman. There was one day I came out from Brewman, I was attracted by the outlook, it is very korean decorated, from the wordings to the decoration hanging on the wall. I really love how it looks as a whole, spacious and simple with good interior lighting. However, the choices of the breads are not many, probably because of the timing when it was going to close in another hour. The set up of the bakery shop is very customer friendly, where the breads are placed at two aisle, thus it is very easy for customer to have an overview and easily pick the available breads. I was looking for a breakfast for the second morning, so I picked and bought its sandwiches, which I realised the portion is a little too much for me for breakfast after that. There were 4 pieces half size of ham and mayo eggs sandwiches. I quite like it, as the vegetables and the hams were quite fresh, except I am not a fans for the mayo eggs, found it was a bit too dry. There is a café located at the upstairs of the bakery shop, where you can place your orders at the counter and enjoy it there. I might be going back to try out its café next time if there is a chance.

Previously known as Nabe Bakery Café, this bakery cum café is interesting with its concrete walls and wooden tables, quite a mix of various furnishing touches. Though the café is wafting with freshly baked aromas, it’s not the only thing available here. They serve a variety of spaghetti including bacon cream, aglio olio and tomato meatballs. They also have the infamous Korean ice dessert — bingsu in a variety of flavors. We ordered a blueberry bingsu, all while expecting it to be really good and comparable to other bingsu places popping up these days. It was just alright, and the ice was not as smooth as Café Bene’s and the blueberries are not spectacular. All these for RM20, I would have gone for pasta instead. We also had a green tea muffin and latte, that fared better. The latte was under RM10 which was quite standard these days but it was a good portion and though it was milky and not too sweet, it lack the flavour of the roasted beans. The machiato was also quite decent so nothing to complain about! I would like to give this café another try, possibly the sandwiches in the near future as they bake their own bread so it might be much more satisfying next visit.
