Wafflemeister

Waffles are NOT just for breakfast any more and when I spotted this place I knew waffles are now the rage everywhere at least they seem to be «THE THING» here in SoCal. Every time I turn around there some place in SoCal making sandm-​mchies with waffles, or its a dessert of some kind, French fry creation, and for breakfast.
I don’t think I had yet had the opportunity to try something so I jumped at the chance to try it here in KL. I needed a snack and this was prefect! Sadly every creation was covered in chocolate so I just went with it. I tried to find the one that had little to no chocolate and then I asked them to ONLY put a smiggy bit on it.
They had a NICE selection to pick from if you are into chocolate and nanas. I went with one that had a plain glazed waffle and fresh cut strawberries on top with whip cream and a smiggy drizzle of chocolate!
Since this is a cart in side of a mall (KLCC) I went to go find a seat along the walk ways to eat because all the seated provided were taken.
I dove in but it was just ok. Since this was my first one I REALLY didn’t get what all the hype was surrounding these waffle treats! The waffle was glazed and it made it a bit hard so it cut up the roof of my mouth. NO BUENO! Then it was WAYYY TOOOO SWEET for my taste! It ended up giving me a tum-​tum ache! I don’t think a was able to finish it and it ended up in the el trash-​o can-​o! I suffered with a tum-​tum ache for a few hours before it decided to digest and give me some relief.
I can’t say I was at all impressed and the added bonus of a tum-​tum ache was soooo NOT the way to be on holiday in KL!

After everyone started uploading pictures of their waffles from Wafflemeister on Instagram, I was quite eager to try it myself. The outlet is quite small with minimal seating space so i opted to have it packed so i could takeaway. They have a relatively big variety to choose from and I ended up ordering the Go Bananas which is a waffle with whipped cream, banana slices, Belgian chocolate and mixed nuts. It looked very appetizing but when I actually took a bite out of it, I was very disappointed. So much hype for such a mediocre waffle. And its overpriced too. For such a small, average waffle, it was not worth the money. The other waffles looked good as well but after having mine, I feel like the basic waffle taste is going to be mediocre and only the topping might lift the taste up a little bit. I wont be going back for another try though.

Overpriced Belgian waffle is all I could say about this outlet, however the shop itself Is very attractive. Finally one day I have this super craving on the waffles and chocolate therefore I stopped by at Wafflemeister.
I ordered a Dream Team with chocolate gelato. You can opt for other flavor as they have a variety of gelato. The ice cream is very rich and creamy. We have a choice to either drizzle our Belgian waffle with white chocolate, milk chocolate or dark chocolate.
With a waffle pricing at the price, I would not choose to go back to Wafflemeister. However, if the sudden cravings of chocolate waffles appear again I might revisit Wafflemeister.
