Another boat noodle meal I have had. And this time is at SS2. Danny and I didn’t purposely go for boat noodle. However, we were in the mist of choosing what food to have as our lunch. We passed by Victory Monument. And the crew walked towards us and started introducing their restaurant. There is a very huge wall photo displaying the float market at Thailand. We were told by the crew that they originally from Thailand and they offered various choices on their boat noodle soup base; pork, beef and chicken. If you are first time diner, like we did, the crew, no doubt will passionately introduce all their boat noodle type and ask you to try all. I was like hang for a while and said, can I order myself? She insisted to help us. Well, I just made my choice and she helped to take the order. I tried almost all but not the clear spicy soup noodle because she told me it is similar to tomyam soup(although she also said it was their signature soup base). By the way, she told me they only served glass noodle, but I found it actuallly is Thai Kuey Teow. Maybe they should check out how glass noodle looks like. The clear soup noodle, honestly speaking, it tasted similar to pork soup noodle. Well the thicken soup noodle, it was palatable. It was taste herb but also have little boat noodle soup taste. The dry noodle, they put a lot of fried onion on top. It has covered the taste of the dry noodle. Overall, my dining experience in Victory Monument was okay. The price was pretty standard; RM1.90/bowl. If you like certain type, they also offer big bowl which is RM8.90/bowl, a bowl is more than enough for one meal.

Boat noodles are making it’s way to Petaling Jaya and KL area. Originated from Thailand, boat noodles are now a trending food especially in KL and PJ. This time around, I visited the one in SS2, Victory Monument Boat Noodles. Part of why the small bowls, the concept was because in Thailand, the noodles are sold in boats to visitors at floating markets. There is the thicken soup with either Chicken or Pork, clear glass soup noodle, dry noodles with Beef or Pork as well as the clear spicy soup. A small bowl would costs around RM1.90 and a big bowl at RM8.90. I had to try all because it all looks so tempting. I personally like the dry noodles with pork and with beef. The thicken soup is really, too thick for me, hence the name. The clear soup is not too bad either. Noodles were perfectly cook, not too soft. Service was also up to standard. The staff will brief you on the menu if you are not familiar and yes, in detail. If you are familiar with their menu, have fun ordering! Apart from that, do also try their side dishes. I had the Pork Ball and it was good. Do also order the coconut juice to cool down your body. Boat noodles are something I will eat only once a while. One big bowl is enough to make you full.
