With the inflation of food prices, how often can you find affordable eating stalls for work lunches? I was told about this place by a colleague and we have lunched there several times after. There is only one thing served at this place — banana leaf rice without the leaf. Yes, the meals are served on a metal plate and buffet style unlike other establishments. I would call it just Indian rice with a wide selection of dishes from vegetables, meat and of course a colorful array of curries. You can take however much you want and the surprising part is, you only pay AFTER eating. A worker will go around pricing your plates as you are eating and you just pay with the owner after. The owner of Indian descent — Mr Pandiyan is really friendly and kind, there were times when I just took dal to eat with my brought from home food, and he didn’t charge me at all. That shows a generous boss is a good boss=D. And guess what, you can take whatever much of meat and vegetables you want and it will never cost more than RM10. Even with mutton, egg, rice, chicken, vegetables, it will only be about RM7.50 — RM9. If you are a big eater, this is a worthwhile deal for you but you have to go earlier by 12pm else some dishes may run out later on. The rasam is one of the best I tasted so far — spicy, sour, salty, perfect way to cleanse the palate from the spicy meal. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby and yearning for homecooked food.
