I’ve seen Nana’s Green Tea in Japan and had very high hopes for them when they started in KL. A little disappointed. I found everything to be of decent but not spectacular quality. I would say that if you are looking for different ways to enjoy green tea, this is definitely the right place to be. It is a nice place to hang out. The place is brightly lit and the staff are very responsive.

I’ve been to both of their branches(mid valley and one utama) and personally prefer the one utama branch better. It is usually crowded during peak hours in mid valley but not the case in one utama. For the main courses, I would say it is just okay. Nothing really outstanding or extraordinary. But what you should try here is the desserts. Their dessert is quite pretty looking I have to say. I’ve tried a couple of flavours before but most of them taste almost similar. Only the toppings are different as well the flavour of ice cream. One parfait is sufficient to be shared among two. Downside is that a parfait cost close to RM20 which is a little overpriced. If you’re low on budget, definitely try their green tea ice cream in a cone. It taste amazing!!!

Meow this place has the green tea ice cream closest to what you get in Japan. No additional sugaring or coloring, and is a good place for dessert lovers, as parfait presentation is very very good. #WARNING: expect a bit of combination of either sweet, sour, and bitter flavour to be mixed into each dessert as Japanese desserts tend to blend flavours to balance out the flavour, so it won’t be too sweet nor too bitter. Food wise, okay. It is just a standard Japanese food so o won’t go into that. The green tea comes at perfect temperature as to bring out the flavour of the tealeaf, that took me over as I enjoy tea and appreciate a good cuppa anywhere. Service was very good as they provide a container to place your handbags in, while you eat. Price wise, expect this to be a dating spot so be prepared to pay rm20 per dish.

Green tea latte with ice-cream. Had the pleasure of dining at Nana’s over the weekend. My friends and I had the set lunch. The set came with a main course and a drink for RM21.90. I opted for the salmon don and the green-tea latte with ice-cream. The salmon don was served with slices of raw salmon covering the rice. The salmon was not that fresh, mediocre at best but the rice was tasty. The Green-tea latte with ice-cream was the highlight of the meal. The green-tea latte was thick and refreshing, topped off with vanilla soft serve, it was heavenly. The other desserts on the menu looked really good as well, will be back for more soon!

From what I understand Nana’s Green Tea was established in Japan, by someone who was dealing with«Matcha», green powdered tea. It is a café who is primarily knows for its green tea and anything made with and out of green tea. The ice cream was my first stop. The place is quite big and they also serve food so no worries, it is not only a desert place. The menu is extensive and you can have anything from noodles, salads to ice cream, parfaits and more. My favourite part of this place is the sweets. All kinds of sweets and if you love green tea then you are in heaven here. The also have an every day set lunch for only RM22. And on top of that every time you spend over RM50 you get a Rm10 voucher.(this promo is available till 1MAY only). So if you are in 1 Utama do check them out. You get to experience a Japanese tradition in Malaysia :)

Pictures of Nana’s Green Tea ice cream having ben flooding instagram and I had to try it since my best friend recommended it. This outlet in 1Utama is located on the LG floor near Fish & Co. The restaurant looked quite big and spacious from the outside but I did not go in as the ice cream booth was located at the entrance itself. I am a green tea lover and I was very sure that I was going to enjoy this ice cream but I was wrong. I ordered the Matcha green tea Soft Ice Cream served on a cone(RM7.90). It looked extremely yummy and appealing but as soon as I tried it, I had mixed feelings about it. The green tea was concentration was just too much for me as it had a very bitter taste in the end of every bite. I did not really enjoy it but many green tea lovers might. I might go back again to try their other dishes but maybe its no from me, for the ice cream.

Went here after hearing that this place has the best green tea ice cream. Honestly I’m not a fan of anything green tea flavored but I was keen to give the Vanilla ice cream a try. It was creamy and has the consistency of regular soft serve ice cream. Though for the price I wouldn’t try it again. Besides the ice cream they also serve food here. My friend ordered the Mentaiko Udon which is noodles with udon in a cream based sauce. The pink color of the sauce may be a little alarming but I assure you it’s delicious though the texture of the squid was a little rubbery and chewy. They even have the option of salads for those who wanna stick to a healthier route. I ordered a chicken Katsu salad(I guess the fact that the chicken is fried defeats the purpose of ordering a salad haha) and the portion was big but filling and the sesame seed dressing on top was light and tangy.

Fancy a Japanese dessert? What was once a walkway or an outdoor hang out spot for smokers is now this café! Smacked between Secret Recipe, absolute thai and fish n Co, this dessert place seemingly has an increase of green tea lovers day by day! Knowing 1 Utama is my second home, I stepped in and gave one of the desserts a try. Though I know it was a hot day that night, I gave the green tea ice cream a try. Though a little overprice, the ice cream is one of the best I’ve ever had! The taste was smooth, cooling and has a rich flavor of green tea! It felt like I was ‘eating’ a cold green tea! For those around the neighborhood, no need to travel so far to dig for your cravings when there is already a treasure buried right under your feet!

This place is always crowded — so be ready for long queue waiting if you’re here or you have to avoid the peak hours. Very famous with their japanese curry chicken rice, they are not bad but i won’t comment them as extraordinary. Yes, you get a very big slice of chicken fillet, so it’s quite worth the price and the wait. However, their demanded sundae is somehow overrated in my opinion. With all sweet stuff stuffed in a sundae glass, i didnt really find the joy in eating it as there isn’t really the texture that im seeking. I might have to say that the only thing i like in that is the nama chocolate, really creamy and rich! Might not come back here as its pretty pricey here, anyway the place is still always crowded, so i think its rather personal if you’d like the place or not.

Just like any Japanese food place, their food is very presentable and so so pretty! This is one of the outlet where young ladies would take out their camera and Instagram their food the moment it arrives because everything is just so nicely arranged and looks delicious. No sarcasm in there though because presentable food just makes me wanna sink my mouth into it even more. I am happy with the green tea latte that I ordered because it was bursting with the fragrance of green tea powder and blended with ice the whole beverage just taste great. That goes the same with the udon that I ordered and all the dishes that my friend ordered(I snacked on every one of them). Just the right portion everything with perfect timing in cooking and flavouring to taste. My udon soup was taste clean and rich(I don’t know how they do it) that makes the udon slurps into my mouth with the right amount of taste and it’s just super yummy. I am lacking vocabulary to describe all the food now but seriously, go give them a try because they are not just a pretty face, the food truly have substance and quality!

Nana’s Green Tea is basically a household name by now, and the One Utama branch is the one that surpasses the Midvalley counterpart by perhaps a quarter of a mile. For one, the taste of the green tea ice creams on any dessert or dishes are legendary. The smooth, cold goodness is usually paired with pancakes or various other flour related things, and is extremely good for hot days and hot dates. The matchas, green teas, are very good too, with different flavors to compliment your taste buds. It is a pretty good place to eat, but you may never be able to fill your stomach with the trinkets of food. Not saying the portions are small, for it is big, but it may never be able to fully fill your tummy properly. I would expect anyone to only enter this place for its desserts, and come on; who does not love desserts anyway?

Green tea lovers, you can know indulge yourself with lots of green tea and matcha at Nana’s Green Tea. If you have not check out this café, then you really should. The café was established 14 years ago in Tokyo and they are a pioneer of Japanese café dealing with Matcha. It has always been Japanese’s culture in drinking tea and incorporating green tea into their meal, so you can’t really go wrong with such café. Furthermore, I was told by my friend that the food was good and the pricing wasn’t too high. The opened their first branch in The Gardens Midvalley, and One Utama is their second branch. Joe and I had the chance to drop by the Nana’s Green Tea at Bandar Utama. It’s located at the lower ground, before the Secret Recipe at the New Wing. The place was spacious and not noisy, despite it being in a shopping mall. After browsing through their menu, Joe and I decided to try out their hamburg a.k.a. hamburger. I had the Locomoco Hamburg and chosen the beef patty with warm millet rice, greens and Japanese style poached egg. I was curious what«locomoco sauce» is and it turned out to be their homemade tomato sauce. The patty was nice, but I’m not a big fan of any tomato sauce. Compared to mine, I’d prefer Joe’s Kinoko Hamburg — beef patty with cream sauce and mushrooms with warm millet rice. Both of the dishes came with a bowl of miso soup. I was expecting the soup to be salty, but it turned out to be very light instead. Since it’s a place famous for its matcha and green tea, we have to try out some of these. The Matcha Latte was really good. It’s smooth and you can really taste the matcha in it. I enjoyed my Uji Cha a lot too — mild tea with a bitter sweet taste towards to end. They have 5 types of hot tea for you to choose — Matcha, Uji Cha, Karigana Cha, Hoji Cha, and Gemmai Cha. While I was browsing through the menu, I was so tempted to try out their desserts! They look super delicious, but we did not order any of them. However, I saw almost every table ordered their Green Tea Parfait and maybe I should try this during my next visit. So, if you haven’t tried Nana’s Green Tea yet, then you really should drop by one of their branches — especially if you are a green tea lover! Also, they offer set lunch on weekdays, weekends and public holidays too. Operating Hours: Monday-Sunday(10am — 10pm) Email:
