This is a great activity to spend with your friends or spouse. It was my first time trying out archery and it was harder than I thought. You basically have to have a lot of arm muscle and hold the bow very firmly(but don’t hold it for too long) to shoot your target and it could be consider a good exercise for your arm. The arena for you too shoot is not too big, but it could occupy for more than 10 people. Basically they have a few packages for you to choose. If you are a single person, you can pay RM10 for 12 arrows. If you are 1 – 2 people, price is RM18 for 24 arrows. If you are 1 – 3 people, price is RM27 for 36 arrows, and if you are up to 4 people, price is RM72 for 120 arrows. It does sound like a lot of arrow and you might feel like you don’t need that many, but trust me, once you start, you will keep taking the arrows one by one, and 12 arrows seems like nothing. It probably will only take 10 minutes of your time. So you might want to consider going in group for cheaper price. Will recommend this place for great activity on the weekend.

I remember long ago this place was so famous because it’s the one and only place that provides archery range. And when I studied in the One Academy, some of the days I would go to the archery range and shoot some arrows at the board. Now it is still there, just that the range is not very big anymore. The hype has gone down compared to last time but it is still fun to shoot. I purchased about 45arrows for 30 ringgit plus and it was enough for me, a little rusty as I have not been doing it for many years after I had long graduated in 2007. But the price has changed though, now seems more pricey than before, and the targeting board instead of one big target it now has 4 small targets to shoot at. The distance is also shorter compared to last time. it makes it easier for people to shoot because they can just simply shoot anywhere and you will hit something. So I was a little unsatisfied because it’s not the same anymore. The feeling of excitement is still there. Oh, and their arm gloves for shooting is quite worn off. Like the strap would keep coming off after a few shots. Quality of their equipment has dropped. I wouldn’t bother with the place if you want to shoot arrows, but if you insist on trying out archery then just go ahead.

Feeling bored one day walking around aimless in Sunway Pyramid, I came across Star Archery with a group of friends and spontaneously decided to give it a try. I found out later that Groupon occasionally has discounts here so be sure to check it out to save some cash. Looking at how Katniss from Hunger Games and Oliver from Green Arrow shoots their arrows so effortlessly makes you think it’s not that difficult. But it is. Arrows don’t go where you aim them to go as they lose energy the further they tracks. Also, pulling the bow requires quite a lot of strength and you will easily feel tired of raising your arm up. Good exercise on your arms and a niche sport to take up if you’re interested.

Got an hour or so to kill or just wanna try something new? Give archery a try. A group of friends and I had a couple of hours to spend before a movie and the place was empty so we decided to give it a try. We got a package for 4 people which was RM72 for 120 arrows. So between 4 of us it was 30 arrows per person. They have other packages for groups of 3 or pairs. When we got our arrows and bows we headed over to the shooting area where an instructor demonstrated to us how to angle our arms and how to properly hold the bow and arrow so that we don’t injure ourselves or anyone else. Overall it was a good experience and I would try it again!

It was my first time ever trying archery. So I decided to give it a go at Star Archery inside of Sunway Pyramid. I decided to take 36 arrows which cost about RM27.00 for 2 people. The workers equip me with the necessary safety equipments and provided the arrows upon showing the receipt of payment. The workers were very helpful and knowledgeable in the art of archery. My first time there was not a bull-eye. However, the workers’ guides me of the correct way to hold the bow and release the arrows. A few tries afterwards I could do it by myself without screwing things up. It was definitely an experience that I would never forget. If you would ever want to try archery, I would highly recommend this place.
