Tacosteña is a chain of taco shops in acapulco — no idea how many there are in total but I’ve seen at least 6 within a mile of my hotel. We had lunch there when we wanted something simple and cheap. It was pretty great! We had tacos pastor which were on special for 6 for 30 pesos. Two orders was enough to feed both of us. Tasty, cheap, quick. Recommend!

This place is really hard to find fault with. It’s not fancy and it’s not unique. Yet, it’s cheap. It’s quick. The food is good. Clearly this combination worked for them, to the point where they were successful enough to expand into a city-​wide chain. In fact, you can find a Tacosteña on almost every block. In some cases there are two across the street from one another! Anyway, everyone in this whole country offers pastor tacos, but some are better than others. I make no claim that these are the best. Still, they’re solid, and at 6 tacos for 30 pesos, I have zero complaints! We’ve only been in town for two whole days now, we’ve already been twice.
