No recomiendo.

The best thing about El Pez De Oro is the location. The restaurant is situated on the shore of beautiful Laguna Bacalar. There aren’t many bad things to say about sitting and eating in front of an awesomely turquoise lagoon. For about an hour we sat and ate very fresh fish from the lagoon, cooked to order. The service was good, though this is likely an unfortunate result of the fact that the restaurant was empty. It was cause to wonder how such an establishment could stay in business. On a sunny holiday weekend, I would expect touristy restaurants to be as filled as they could be. For the two of us, I can’t complain. The quiet was very relaxing, and I watched a mother snail kite hunting and then feeding her chicks again and again, just off the shore. She probably would have been scared off, if there had a been a big noisy crowd instead. The facility was aging and a bit run down. Part of the dock had collapsed long ago. Still, all of this seemed to add to the ambience somehow. I hope that they get more business so that they can stay open, but I will always appreciate our private lunch on the lagoon at El Pez De Oro.
