Monkey Business

Posted this on tripadvisor too cause this place is a scam and serves water in place of booze! So I came here on a weekday around 2 with a bunch of buddies, they place wasnt busy, we were maybe the only other table there. We ordered a hookah and 6 Red Bull Vodkas… well, out comes 6 pint glasses with ice and what was presumably vodka, along with a few cans of Red Bull… for some reason and I cant say why, I took a sip of the ‘vodka’ before adding the red bull and HOLY CRAP… WATER…STRAIGHT WATER. Like NOT EVEN A HINT of vodka. I was so angry I stormed back inside and made the waitress taste it. She totally knew what was going on a mumbled something to herself about how ‘someone mustve filled it with water’ while refusing to make eye contact. She eventually brought drinks that had actual vodka in them but LOOK OUT, we ordered Stoli and Red Bull and I’m willing to bet tons of others have too but they didn’t get what they paid for. The service was terrible and this place is a scam. AVOID.

We loved this place. Did not check Unilocal before going but found it out on a hot humid night when the other nightclubs were going berserk. This place did not have any cover, and had outdoor/​indoor seating areas. On a weekend night, the owner told, they had live bands performing. We loved the spanish songs, albeit did not comprehend anything, and the drinks. The price point was fair, plus the crowd was a tad upscale compared to other places nearby.

1. El lugar tiene hookas, bandas en vivo y karaōke!
2. Bebidas de litros? Si, y están buenos solo que no esperes algo exótico.
3. La ambientación está padrísima, lo único malo o bueno para algunos es que no se llena mucho.
4. El staff es súper amable y buena onda.

How on earth does this place not have any reviews??? My husband and I loved it! We stayed in Cancun for a week and had plenty of time to check out many restaurants, and honestly, were disappointed with many — EXCEPT Monkey Business! The servers were incredibly friendly — Hector in particular, and the food was great!
They do karaōke, hookah, live music, and have great food and drinks. Their steak tacos and steak burrito were fantastic!
Also, this place is still on the main strip but its not at all in your face like the neighboring bars and restaurants. There were no pressure tactics to get you in (they don’t need it).
This place is awesome, definitely recommend checking it out!
