This restaurant is the cherry on top of an otherwise near ideal experience at The Cape Hotel. Manta is their high end dinner spot and it lives up to the hotel’s high standards. The food is amazing across the board, but you absolutely must not miss: –Octopus Anticuchos(one of their most popular dishes and there is a reason why: it’s amazing; the best octopus I’ve ever had, so tender and flavorful) –Carnitas Tacos(incredible; crazy delicious flavors) –Merengue dessert(beyond; this is not to be missed!!) And as long as the wind isn’t too strong, definitely request a table outside on the patio with the views and sounds of the ocean.

The food just didn’t do it for me. The service was impeccable, tho! It’s a shame that they didn’t embrace Mexico for its authenticity. Our hotel recommended us to go there, «One of the best chefs in Mexico’s restaurant!» they said … The food just wasn’t good. My fiancé and I have visited the best of the best, & this did not live up to the hype. The view was beautiful & that’s about it.

Manta surpassed our expectations in every way. The food was unique and mind blowing, the service perfect and the drinks delicious. We honestly came because we are staying at The Cape and were too lazy to go out tonight. We ordered the mushroom consommé, the miso fish tacos, the fried chicken and the chocolate sponge cake. All highly recommended. If there’s one thing I would recommend the restaurant it would be to better explain the dishes. The menu doesn’t do justice to the dishes.

Everything from the food, ambiance, Views, and service was spectacular. First the food: while portions were small(we like this) the quality was great. Must have the tuna sashimi, it melted in our mouth and we had to order another. Sea Bass fish tacos were the best tasting we have had in Cabo(and we have had them everywhere). Short rib tacos were addicting and the flavor was unique of any taco I have ever tried. Ended with the lemon cream for dessert and oh my!!! It was fantastic! Have to get a seat outside or by window so you can see the fantastic views of waves crashing on rocks, city lights, and surfers. Staff takes care of you with heaters, blankets, and attentive/friendly service. We will be going back before we leave for sure!

Known as one of the best chefs in the world, Enrique Olvera’s restaurant Pujol was ranked best in Mexico and 16th best in the world at the World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards. Inspired by his passion for Los Cabos – and views from one of the area’s most desirable and secluded playas – the renowned New York-trained Mexican chef Enrique Olvera conceived Manta. I was so inspired by the quote from a genius in the culinary world, chef Ferran Adrià’s statement at a conference two years ago: «There was Mexican food before Enrique Olvera, and Mexican food after Enrique Olvera,» that I had to put this restaurant on the top of my list to visit in Cabo. The setting was exquisite! Overlooking the ocean in a unique and tranquil space, very different from the quaint local style of most dining spots in town. The service was top notch. I was intrigued and excited to see what they had to offer from the kitchen. The menu was unadorned and plain listing a large stack of starter style plates along with just a few entrees. So many unique choices and combinations, made it difficult to make a selection, but one must choose if you want to eat! Starting off with a cocktail sounded like a good idea so I opted for their«Dragon on the Beach» drink made with Sake Junmai, Dolin Rosso, Damiana and Sencha Tea, Carbonic Soda and Peychaud’s. I recognized only about 3 of the items on the ingredient list, but decided to be brave and go for it! It was really delicious and nicely not real sweet. Loved the fact that they brought over what looked like a miniature coat rack for our pocketbooks and scarves. So thoughtful! My take on the food was that I enjoyed their starter dishes the best.(Seems to be the case with me a lot lately…) I find that getting a small bite sized taste packed with several flavor profiles is more satisfying than eating a larger portion of mostly one item. Tapas is generally my style and so it isn’t surprising that I liked their small plate items better. I loved the artistry and plating of each item and enjoyed the combinations of texture and taste tantalizing my palate. Our two mains, however, the fish and the vegetable tempura were good, but certainly not what I’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. I felt that the ambiance, view and service actually may have exceeded the food this time, although some of the items were really delicious. It is possible that I expected too much and was therefore underwhelmed by the food, yet certainly motivated to come back and try other items next time. It’s a spot that’s definitely worth another look.

I don’t know if it was a slow night or what but it left something lacking. The quality of the food was excellent but it generally lacked flavor. Octopus tacos seemed broiled not grilled and the sauce was bland. Same with just about everything including the dessert. Next morning at the downstairs restaurant, same thing at breakfast. Bland. Even dessert was wack. Chocolate brownie had no flavor. We had to go in town to eat. Love this hotel and the bar is perfect, but someone needs to keep an eye on the food!

This is no more a traditional Mexican restaurant than I am a Mexican national. However, it provided me the single BESTMEAL I’ve eaten during my time on this earth. The service was excellent, the wine wonderful, the cocktails creative and the food simply the BEST. The Ahi Tuna appetizer, the skewered Octopus, the charred avocado salad, the edamame and bean salad, and finally, the Sea Bass. No, I forgot the dessert! It too was like everything else; interesting, delightful. and beautiful presented. It is the BEST place to eat I have ever experienced, I say again. When in CABO do NOT miss this place… Oh by the way, your table looks out over the Gulf of California. Spectacular!

If there was such a thing as a 10 Michelin Star restaurant, then this place would be it! Every single dish we ordered was incredibly tasty and done to perfection! The flavors were unreal and very unique! Get the 4 course dinner and you can choose any 4 items. Service was top notch! Great selection of wines especially the ones made in Mexico! Outdoor patio has amazing views of Cabo!

Mexican, Japanese and Peruvian fusion cuisine. I am all for authentic cuisine, so when I first booked the restaurant I was somewhat skeptical. Manta was a pleasant surprise! The quality of the ingredient, accommodating services, chic atmosphere and the creativity of the chefs. Excellent! We tried the 4 course tasting menu(for 2 persons) — which actually gave us opportunity to pick out 8 different dishes to try and share. I am usually not a big octopus eater, but the grilled octopus the server recommended was extremely tender and flavorful. I must say, being located in a popular resort has not compromise the food in Manta.

I recently took my girlfriend here to propose after looking for other venues with nice views of the sunset. We walked down to the beach, I popped the question, snapped some photos, and we hit up the rooftop bar for a drink while the sun set over El Arco. Their venue and the food was absolutely amazing, but what really set them apart was their service and hospitality. You can tell they have a deep commitment to the happiness of their guests. I contacted them about the possibility of making special arrangements and they DIDNOT disappoint! Once we finished our drink at The Rooftop, we took the elevator down to the restaurant and were greeted with the most beautiful corner table a stones throw away from the ocean surrounded by a ring of candles. It was stunning and took my now fiancée’s breath away. We were then walked through the menu by an amazing staff and given the context for each of our four dishes. They were not only super knowledgable about the dishes and the methods in which they were prepared, the staff was very attentive and just made the night amazing. Although it was a little pricey for our budget, it was definitely worth the money and actually much cheaper than the other options with similar views. Overall, this place was a total gem and was the place I was looking for but didn’t know existed… Seriously they’re still not on Google Maps satellite view. Anyway, everything I could have hoped for and more. They went out of their way to help me make a truly unforgettable night!

We came here because we love modern architecture and wanted to see if this place could impressive us with their food and services. The buildings were stunning and services was perhaps a bit too attentive but better then the alternative. We shared the four course tasting menu(about $ 50 to 60) which was slightly odd that you pick your own. The menu was pretty limited. The display of the food didn’t disappoint but the portions left us a bit hungry. The drinks were $ 15 for coctails and $ 8 to 9 for beer. The drinks were great but for the price I would have preferred it not be ¾ of the way full. To attract more people they should consider lowering their prices by 20% this place is worth going to but bring about $ 100p/p to get the full experience.

Seriously amazing dinner, cocktails & service, and better than anything else we ate during our stay, including El Farallon. We did the 5 course tasting menu at the chef’s table and were basically served the entire menu(we actually went back two nights later to try everything that we missed). The ingredients are fresh and creative, and the chefs walked us through each course and suggested accompanying drinks. It’s the kind of experience that would cost an arm and a leg(and a solid month’s lead time for the reservation), and at ~$ 70/pp felt like a steal.

Dined at Manta during our stay at The Cape(new Cabo resort, part of the Thompson Hotel chain– HIGHLY recommend staying there). We had an amazing dining experience here. First, the hotel itself is simply immaculate– modern, sophisticated, fresh, and chic yet with restraint. The same goes for the restaurant décor as well. We opted to sit outside, which has a breathtaking view of the famous«El Arco del Cabo.» The interior looked amazing too, large floor to ceiling windows, sleek and dark ambience lighting. It looked like they share the«open kitchen» concept, as there is also a bar counter where one can dine and watch the chefs prepare the food. The food was incredible. I believe the chef is rather well renowned, and owns some highly regarded restaurants in NYC and Mexico City, but I had never heard of him until coming down to Cabo. The food was delicious. It is definitely Mexican based with a Japanese fusion twist, but not too much as to take away from authentic Mexican components. The menu has a great range of selection, and the best part is that they offer a 4-course menu(for only $ 64 per person) that you can completely personalize with whichever 4 dishes you want from the full menu(i.e. you could theoretically order 4 main courses). The portions for the 4 courses were large, which was completely unexpected! I ordered three dishes(to save room for the dessert course). They were the sea bass ceviche(favorite), sesame crusted tuna balls, and the catch of the day. My fiancé ordered the beef yakiitori, edamame bean salad(favorite), beef tacos, and fried chicken. We shared the chocolate sponge cake + ice-cream. We were incredibly full by the end of the meal. Each course and entrée was truly exquisite and prepared perfectly. The only complaint(I can think of) is that we were both so full from our dinner that we were physically unable to order any more drinks at the beautiful rooftop bar. My main regret was that I spent close to $ 300 at El Farallon(over at Resort de Pedregal) for food that was nowhere as creative and delicious as Manta. My second regret is that we dined at Manta at the very end of our trip as our last evening meal. I should have dined at Manta from our first night here, so that we could then order a la carte the rest of the nights. Unfortunately I’m not into taking pictures of my food, but trust me the presentation was outstanding! Another important aspect to Manta was the service. Everyone was extremely polite and knowledgable, explaining each of the ingredients to our courses. They were not intrusive and pushy with ordering drinks(as I had experienced at El Farallon), and really just took care of all the details seamlessly. It did not feel like a «tourist stop» and truly felt like a fine dining experience that I would have in the United States. Needless to say, we were very impressed at the end of our meal, my fiancé even made it a point to find the manager(who was extremely amicable, walking to each table throughout the evening) to tell him how great of an experience we had. If we come back to visit Cabo, we are definitely staying at The Cape and dining at Manta again!

This is a brand new restaurant located at the Cape Hotel. The view at sunset is absolutely stunning. The food a Mexican with a Japanese touch and was so good we went back a second time during our short stay. They offer a four course tasting and I say share it and then if you are still hungry order more but the dishes are all a nice size. We loved the sashimi, the octopus was amazing and the chicken was delicious. We typically drink wine and enjoyed the wine list our first night. The second night we tried some of the specialty cocktails which were wonderful and refreshing. The staff was very helpful and attentive.
