it’s official, I’m an international Unilocaler! And I LOVETABASCO’S CANTINA! If this place was down the street I’d probably be there every day! So this place is well known in Juárez and if you ask anyone who knows Juárez, they will ask you, «Have you had their nachos?» Because, Yes, this place makes the best nachos you will ever eat! Trust me. It’s a wonderful blend starting with fresh, in-house fried tortilla chips, layered from(bottom to top) with beans, brisket meat in red chili sauce(chili colorado style), nacho cheese, queso fresco, then muenster cheese to top it off! It is an absolute mess but an absolute necessity when eating this appetizer that is more geared to a shared meal. Then the drinks are absolutely amazing as well. Here’s a great tip, order the«Nalgas de Indo» but let me warn you, one may be enough because two will really get the party started! The drink looks like muddy water but the flavor of the fresh juices and hidden liquors are a perfect blend. The wifey loves the Luces de Habana, which is a lot more friendly and more reminiscent of a tropical drink. The bar is plenty huge and the people are extremely friendly. Some know English but it’s a great time to practice your Spanish as most of them don’t care how badly you butcher the language. Oh and something that is done a little differently in J town is there is a parking attendant who watches your car to make sure it’s safe while you eat, so save a dollar or 16 pesos as a friendly tip for his vigilance as you leave. Overall, as the pesos and crime continue to drop in Juárez, I know I’ll be visiting my favorite watering hole again soon!
