I can’t believe that I didn’t write a review for The Pub. Can this be? I was so impressed with this place that I was quite honestly writing my review in my head while I was sipping on cool beers in the warm company of the friendly regulars that make this spot their home away from home. I feel as though I’ve done the wonderful owners of this place a disservice. My family frequently vacations in Cozumel(well, once a year, that’s pretty regular, right?) and on our most recent visit I found this spot on Unilocal.A British Pub, on a tiny island of the Yucatan Peninsula? Can it be? It can! And it’s even better than you could hope for. This space is gorgeous, tall lofted ceilings, ample seating, and a tremendous courtyard in the back. It’s an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the downtown plaza, and only a few blocks away. Pull up a stool at the bar and chat with the ex-pats, or find yourself a table in the enclosed garden in the back. Regardless, you’re bound to have a wonderful time here. Have a hankering for UK and commonwealth classics? Have an itch that only a curry can scratch? This is just the place for you. The kitchen at The Pub is massive, and probably one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen, even in The States, it’s open for viewing, which is something that I feel is a nice touch provided by the owners. The only drawback for the pub is that getting British ales on draught is a challenge, think about it, they’re the one pub on an island off the coast of Mexico, who’s shipping kegs on a regular basis out there? Never fear, there are cans of imported beer to sate your cravings. If you’re staying in Cozumel for a few days you owe it to yourself to swing by here, for a breath of fresh air, a different adventure, a new way to relax, or a game of shuffleboard at the very least.

I love the Pub. Chris and Sharon bring an authenticity to the english food they serve. They truly care about it being quality. Bangers and Mash, Cottage Pie, Pot Pies … they’re all good. And it’s cozy there… they have two steel tip dart boards, a tabletop shuffleboard game, plenty of seating and a large courtyard in the back if you like to sit in a tropical setting. I’m a regular there and glad I found it!

The Pub is fantastic. It was recommended to us by a friend who has lived in Cozumel full time for the past four years. The owners, Chris and Sharon, are from South Africa and England respectively. The feeling upon entry is warm and friendly. They run the bar/restaurant themselves and the drinks, including draft beer, is excellent. The food is quite good and very generous in size. No one laughed at my horrible dart shots or my ill-placed shots on the shuffleboard table. A lot of ex-pats and cruisers in the know are on hand and their warmth comes through as soon as you walk in the front door. Give it a try.

Found this gem while roaming near our hotel. A great little oasis on the outskirts of the square. Enjoyed a beverage, the beautiful courtyard and some fries with malt vinegar. The owner was very friendly and had an interesting history. Will go again!

Found a cute little place in the middle of Cozumel to grab a few beers and play some darts. They have a very cute patio and a very friendly vibe. Bathrooms are clean. Drinks were delish and they don’t skimp on the alcohol. You can get wine here also. We will be back.
