The bathroom was so dirty, toilet paper on the floor. NO water! They didn’t had the wines we asked and they offer another ones… When the check came, turns out we had the MOST expensive wines in the menu«the only ones they had» without informing us or anything. The view is really amazing, the place looks nice, but with that treatment I don’t think we are going back

This was our first stop in our winery tour and I noticed that they have lodging in hotel boxes on the rocks. It’s supposedly very expensive, so only the rich stay there. This winery includes acres of vineyards and an excellent view of the mountains. We walked up the stairs to the restaurant, where there is also a bar and another room displaying artwork, but it was taken down at the time. I just had the sangria, which was sweet and refreshing. The cheese plate we shared was okay, but a great snack to have while enjoying the beautiful view. The server only said«Congratulations» when he found out I was celebrating my birthday. I guess they don’t do anything special if you’re celebrating something here LOL.

Without a doubt, this place gets 5 stars anyday in my book. We came to Tecate for a wedding and Encuentro Guadalupe came highly recommended by the bride and groom in advance of the wedding. We considered several places, checked out websites, tripadvisors, all that stuff, but I know that this was the only place my husband wanted to visit our whole trip. We went back and forth between here and 2 other locations, but ultimately(and obviously) decided to stay here. My husband is very much into modern design and architecture and this place completely fit the bill. We arrived in the early afternoon and checked in. You are not permitted to drive up to the rooms, but rather escorted in a van whenever you want to go somewhere(one of the downsides in my opinion, but I would not have wanted to drive the steep windy paths myself). When we were brought to our room, the driver discovered that it was not ready for us(housekeeping had not prepared it yet). He called the front and they said it would take about 1 hour, so we requested to go to the pool and wait. What an amazing view. We ordered a couple drinks from the bar and sat in the hot tub for a while until he came to get us. I honestly could have sat there until I became a California raisin… oh my gosh, thinking back, it was just very memorable. Once we got to our room, it was very simple(bed, table, bathroom) but that really enhances the experience. You’re not there to stay in your room and watch tv(there are no TVs by the way). We sat on the balcony for a while(the nats came and went) and then walked the path to the restaurant for dinner. We ordered several items off the menu(lamb sliders, cheese platter, flank steak), all of which were amazing. After dinner, the driver took us back to our room and we watched the sun go down over the valley and just sat on our balcony watching the star beginning to appear in the sky. Overall, I’m so glad we decided t stay here. It’s so unique and memorable. I want to go back tomorrow!

Very panoramic, the location gives you a view of the eastern section of Valle De Guadalupe. With clean lines, minimalist style furnishing, ambient lighting, and acid jazz-style music playing in the background this place is wonderful for a casual evening with friends or an intimate first date. I want to give this place more stars, because the facility and scenery are amazing, but unfortunately the service there was sluggish as it took us over an hour after we ordered to get our food, and even then only half of it was brought to us. In their defense though it was extremely busy at the time in 2013 that we went, and it looked fairly new with an inexperienced staff. In fact, even one of my friends, who is the cousin of the manager, was filling in for being short on help at his behest. With that being said I would love the chance to go back an reevaluate this winery/restaurant and give them a better review.
