Mini get away to Encenada Baja California… Had to e-mail first… they will notify you if the rooms you want are available and the price… then you call and reserve the room with your credit card… you can pay cash once you arrive… I arrived before my check in time and did not want to leave my belonging in the car, Steve was awesome and spoke English and allowed my to check in early… Mission Sta. Isabel. Was easy to Locate. The rooms are not fancy but are not the worse… they are roomy and clean, very small TV… I wouldn’t swim in the pool there. Walking distance from restaurants and bars… Very close to the coast. nice to walk around and site seeing… Security on guard in parking lot all day… The price is great in October… I would definitely stay here again…

This place was on the low budget side of places, but we decided to give it a try after deciding to visit Ensenada on Labor Day weekend. It was an awful experience to a point we couldn’t sleep and we checked out early. First of all we got treated differently since we are from the U.S. and the rates were shady. We were quoted $ 60 for a queen over the phone and then after confirming with each other, we called back and was quoted $ 80 for AC with a two night minimum. We heard Mexican visitors being quoted a lower rate. When we arrived, we were then we were told it was an additional 5% charge for using a credit card. We checked into our room. It was worn down and very old. The towels were at minimum very old. They were a dingy and grey, they looked dirty. My wife didn’t want to use them. Most of the stuff such as lights, tv, no alarm clock, wifi or cable didn’t work. When we asked to correct some of the mistakes, but the desk was rude and indifferent. We were treated awful. My wife just wanted to relax by watching some TV after our long drive and that didn’t even worked. The front desk guy was like, what I’m supposed to do attitude and said we can take care of it in the morning hinting on a discounted stay. The bed sheet smelled dirty, dingy and old although the bed was comfortable. Also, my wife didn’t feel safe since there were older creeper dudes lurking around the place and outside in the public parking. In the end, we asked for a discount on the price for the lack of amenities as recommended and we’re denied. It as if we don’t care about our business since they’ll rent to room. I would never, ever recommend Mision Santa Isabel.

So far so good. Seems clean. Its quiet. Staff is nice. Its the location which is good. Mabey rooms can be up dated a little. But what do u expect from mexico. I feel safe. They have a gate that closes in the evening. At night the lights and ambience is relaxing and very pretty. I love the structure. Very pretty.

Location, location, location. They have a pool for which the water seems murky and a private parking lot with a dude that keeps track of all the cars that enter the lot. I believe there is someone watching the parking lot 24 hours a day. I stay in this hotel because of their walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and bars on calle Primera(Lopez Mateos). Its at the south end of calle primera so its way quieter than the north end where Papas & Beer and all the other bars are. The hotel rooms can use many improvements. The bathrooms are not clean(they aren’t port-o-potty dirty… but it seems like its been at least a year since they’ve had a really good wipe down), the white linens frequently have stains, shower heads do not function properly, bathroom sink faucets don’t work properly, they write(HMSI) with a black marker on their towels so you don’t steal them, curtains in the room look like they have not been washed in at least a few years. I feel that I should bring my own sheets, pillows, pillow covers, blanket and towels next time I stay here. For $ 85 a night during the busy season I don’t believe I should feel this way. This hotel can be a true gem with hard work from the cleaning staff and a little money from the owners. They are frequently fully booked so I can’t imagine they are as broke as the hotel cleanliness makes it seem.
