Service was great, Descent food. Had the shrimp ceviche and it was tasty and plentiful. The imperial fish which was tuna stuffed with seafood had a great creamy sauce but the fish was dry and the seafood they used was too finely chopped. Does not leave you with a good feeling that they were fresh whole shrimps and calamari.

This place is really good. Don’t listen to the haters. Yes the servers don’t speak English but that is ok. You are in mazatlan. The oysters are excellent. Pizza is good. Shrimp wrapped in bacon is good. I would definitely come back.

I was staying in Mazatlan and had recently arrived to the plaza, with about 45 minutes to spare before I checked into my hotel. I decided I’d go to a local restaurant and grab a cold beer while I wait. Before entering the business, I pulled out my visa debit card and specifically asked the waiter if they took card. He assured me they did. I asked again. He assured me they did again. Having just arrived, I hadn’t had a chance to visit the local Santander branch to pull out pesos. At no point did he mention ANYTHING about there being a minimum purchase amount for the card.
I started drinking my beer, until, suddenly I realized it was right about time for me to check in. I motioned for the waiter and asked for the check. I could immediately tell something was wrong. He walked into the restaurant, turned around, came back out and informed me that there is a 100 peso minimum for cards. That’s funny, there was NO sign to be found anywhere near the restaurant to warn of this. Nor did the waiter ever warn of this verbally.
I tried to explain to him that I needed to be at my hotel so I could check in very soon, and that I will NOT be paying an extra 75 pesos for food/​drink I do not want just because the business (and he) failed to explain their policy at the appropriate time (when I asked). He totally understood me, but then went to a nearby tourist and spoke to her in Spanish (too bad for him he didn’t know that I actually have lived in Mazatlan before and I also speak Spanish) he misrepresented the situation, and asked her to explain the policy to me, as if I was the confused one who was doing something wrong. I then demanded to speak to his manager. He did not listen at all and made no attempt to contact his manager. I then told him we can call the police and I’ll tell them exactly what’s going on or he can wait for me to go to a nearby ATM. He agreed to let me go to an ATM.
Unfortunately this sort of thing is known to happen to white tourists in Mexico. Some vendors/​restaurants think that because you have money it’s okay to try to rip you off in small amounts in ways like this. To be honest, their prices on the menu for drinks are completely fair but their food prices are absolutely ridiculous. There’s countless restaurants nearby with superior food, and I would know, I’ve been coming here for periods of upwards a month for years and years. I’m used to certain businesses mistaking me for a gringo and trying to get extra coin out of my wallet.
I should have known to stay away when there was NO ONE at this restaurant. I tried to help them out by being the first customer. Needless to say I will never be coming back to this location. I will be paying them for their beer, however, as promised. It’s unfortunate that I had to start my vacation out this way. I ended up being an hour late for hotel check in and missing a reservation because of all this. If you value your money and time I encourage you to eat at one of the superior restaurants nearby. This event happened about 1:50pm 2÷28÷15

Worst service I have ever had in the world!!!
These waiters think they can speak English and they cannot. Either that or they are liars. Told me no wifi and found out there was. Told me they took my order and did not. Save yourself the aggravation of dealing with these horrible people and go down the street to El Presido where the service, food & atmosphere are world class. This place is a joke of an excuse for a restaurant.

Horrible service!
Server came back to table twice after we had already ordered, to take order again. Complained, still took 45 minutes to get simple orders for 3 people when restaurant not busy. Would never recommend this place to others
