The hip atmosphere at El Comedor is only rivaled by the excellent food. To describe the cuisine as simply mediterranean would not do it justice. While the flavors and concepts all seem to come from the mediterranean region, the Mexican influence and contemporary style set this menu well apart from the standard. Even the pizza brings an air of creativity to the table. Tucked away in the«cool kids» neighborhood of Santa María La Ribera, the restaurant has two entrances, the primary being on Sor Juana Inés. Yet one can also enter from around the corner on Jaime Torres, which makes for a very interesting interior space than spans the inside, rather than the outside, of the street corner. Addding to the atmosphere are the number of artworks lining the walls. All are for sale, and in fact, one can find a menu of artwork just below the menu of food. The chef/owner is a really down to earth guy, and if you get a chance to interact with him, do so. It will only make your dining experience even better.
