Bummed because this was the first place we stopped specifically for tacos. It was close to our room and it has a nice brick and mortar setup so it seemed safe. I’ve also never really had a bad taco. Like how can you fuck up a taco? Especially in DF where you expect to be eating some of the best tacos in Mexico, if not the world. 1. There was fresh(I think) salsa on the table& that always makes me excited. + 2. They had a decent selection of food, not just tacos. + 3. Service was… meh…there were no fresh tortillas to sample the salsas, the dude had some trouble remembering how many of each type of taco we ordered, and it took over 30 minutes just to make the seven TINY tacos that we ordered between the two of us. - 4. The bathroom was upsetting because the sink had no running water. Y’all should take care of that. - 5. Prices and taste… NOT worth it. The tacos were 70 pesos except the bistec(steak) was 35! I was sure there’d be something special about it… maybe really juicy pieces of steak. NOT so. - Here’s what we ordered: 4 tacos de pastor-fine but lots of nerves or whatever that crunchy stuff you occasionally find in meat is, well… wasn’t all that flavorful. Actually, maybe the salsa wasn’t too great, it didn’t add much flavor or bite. The salt, onions and cilantro are mainly what I enjoyed about the pastor tacos. 2 de bistec– so gross, the meat tasted so cheap and was a bit rubbery. Also, no flavor. 1 de suadero– my husband tried this and said that it was just and gross as the bistec. Tortillas-not fresh. And not warmed or fried much. I like my tortillas fresh and a little greasy with the meat fat. All in all, a bummer and I’m still hoping to have an amazing taco experience while I’m here. Whoever Isa is, she needs to tell the people running this place that they’re giving her a bad name. They have everything they need to have a great taco set up, just get some quality meat and spice/grease that shit up!
