In Mexico City/Central Mexico weekends are for barbacoa. There are two main types of barbacoa oven roasted and pit roasted. This place oven roasts the meat, which is a milder flavor. Every Saturday and Sunday this garage space turns into almost a full restaurant. There are tables to comfortably sit at. It amazes me what people can do in a small space. Look for the stuffed sheep, it is next to the candy, gifts, and costume store on the way down to San Mateo. The menu is large, they even serve pan dulce, but it is all about the barbacoa. This barbacoa is not as fatty as others I have tried. The tacos are served on homemade tortillas with a side of nopals, other vegetables, and accompaniments. It almost feels healthy. They serve café de olla and orange juice. This is a good place to get a heavy, meaty, Mexican breakfast. I had the consome, soup/broth, to start, a full bowl. Then I had two tacos. They were very large. Next time I would order a half bowl of consume and one taco. This is heavy food and you can order more as you eat until you are full. At the end of your meal they give you a free little serving of jello which is nice.
