La Casita Poblana

Platillos originales y buena comida tradicional Mexicana es lo que encontré, hay opciones similares en otros lugares, pero el sabor de los alimentos es muy bueno.

We chose this restaurant as our first while in Puebla given its reviews on other websites and it had recently (2014) received an award for its Mole Poblano.
First let me say that I prefer and love SPICY mole. I was led to believe by another website reviewer that the mole here was somewhere between spicy and sweet. NO. It is a sweet mole with the right balance of ingredients for a sweet mole although there was a hint of anise when first served. Unfortunately I found the chicken breast to be rather dry. The rice was fine but not extraordinary, as was the bread served initially. As has been our experience, the portions were very generous and relatively inexpensive.
We did enjoy our appetizer of chalupas which were very nice (and please don’t expect them to be like the ones served in the US.)
The margaritas were served with a twist — rimmed with a salty chile powder. Unfortunately I specifically requested no salt, so despite the interesting idea of the chili dusting, it wasn’t what I prefered in a margarita (I believe the salt quells the flavor of the tequila and lime). In addition there was little alcohol.

Cuando quiero presumir a mis amigos de fuera sobre el potencial de la comida poblana siempre escojo este restaurante. En especial en estas fechas porque no he comido mejores Chiles en Nogada que los que ofrecen aquí.
Tienen valet parking, así que desde la entrada sientes la comodidad de dejar tu coche en la puerta y bajar a comer, y hay una muy buena zona de juegos para los niños, así que te puedes despreocupar de estarlos cuidando y simplemente te dedicas a diafrutar de la comida.
Las chalupas son un excelente aperitivo para abrir el apetito y saben a gloria! No muy picosas, ni insípidas, tienen el sazón perfecto.
Hay platillos de temporada y una variedad grande de platillos en la carta que ilustran muy claramente toda la variedad de sabores que ofrece la gastronomía de Puebla.
El precio es relativamente elevado, aunque no es un restaurante carísimo, y si eres papá de niños melindrosos les puedes pedir cosas sencillas como un queso fundido y se irán felices.
