As far as supermercados go, the Mega is fairly all-inclusive. It’s like any US big box store — Fred Meyer, etc. They’ve got a surprisingly diverse selection of groceries, meat, produce, dry goods, sporting goods, electronics and even some appliances. Whether you’re just grabbing beer and booze for your hotel room or stocking up on essentials for your vacation rental, this is a great spot. Often times straight supermercados lack a decent produce selection, or only carry bare bones, low grade processed foods, but this expansive beast sports a damn decent produce offering. We were also able to source some specialty items like organic agave, organic milk, decent quality yogurts, surprisingly good booze, tasty chorizos and more. While the fish selection was a bit lacking, and the meat selection could have more local stuff, it still served our purposes quite well. Ample covered parking exists below the structure, and the location is decently convenient to old town. It’s right on the main road… you can’t miss it.
