This has become our new ‘Best Restaurant’ in PV. What a delightful surprise! Jose has an engaging personality that immediately made us feel welcome. The upstairs dining area was relaxed… my wife thought it was romantic. Margaritas were great… so was the shrimp appetizer. We had red snapper and mahi mahi for dinner. Both were excellent. We closed out dinner with the flaming coffee and flaming bananas. The showmanship was special and the deserts were excellent! We will be back many more times before our winter vacation is over!

Exquisite food, ambience and service. I had the Mexico Lindo Combo — wow! I’d take a photo but already dug in…

This is one of my favorite spots in PV. I’ve been a few times, including once for New Years Eve a few years ago and this year for Christmas dinner. The rooftop dining is amazing. The waitstaff(and Jose!) are amazing. Food is solid. Definitely worth a visit. They were a little off their game at the Christmas dinner, mixing up orders. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until the end of my meal that I realized my «chicken mole» was so bland because it was the stuffed chicken(also with a brown sauce) that one of my friends ordered. Oops!

A wonderful place we visit each time in PV. Not hectic and crowded but elegant and more attention to service and detail. Excellent food. This time I had the stuffed chicken breast, delicious, my son was in the mood for simple pastas d he really enjoyed it, saying it had a lot of flavor. The red snapper Veracruz was good, not fantastic. The service is great, the owner is hands on and sang a few songs with the guitar players when we were there. Quite a performance when it comes to the flaming banana dessert and flaming coffee especial and they tasted delicious. Mexican accessibility means that staff can carry a wheelchair up and down the tight winding staircase if necessary.

No way! This place was rally great! You can sit upstairs and it open aired. The Cesar salad is by far the best I have had in a long time! The owner came out and made ours!!! Unheard of!!! What amazing service!!! I would go back.

Excellent food, beautiful music, very friendly service. The way they make Cesar salad, coffee or drinks in flames are more of an art than just delicious dinner! Must try for sure!

No Way Jose is one of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. Don’t book your trip until October 15th when the restaurant is open for the busy season. But even if you come off-season like we did, it is still worth it. Jose was there and talked with us. One of his cooks made us a real Caesar Salad in front of us. They had 2:1 drink specials going and they made us Shrimp Fahita’s(one order makes six fahita’s which is plenty of food). Service was impeccable and we had the restaurant to ourselves. The chef made a few complimentary appetizers. With three Mohito’s, two Coronas, the Caesar salad and Fahita’s, our bill was 477 pesos which was very reasonable. If you go full season, you got to try the stuffed chicken. I don’t remember the proper name, but we’ve been thinking of this one dish for the last four years!

We had the great fortune to dine at No Way Jose for a friend’s birthday that was arranged by its owner, Julie Guerrero. The food was not only amazing but the ambiance they provided for the evening was extraordinary. NWJ is now one of our best destinations to PVR. We dined al fresco in the roof terrace and Julie provided all the best for the occasion from the linens, candles, center pieces, and a very delicious dinner. I had the snapper and it was fresh and cooked just the right way. Their mole is one of the best tasting in Old Town PVR too. So the next time you have a special occasion to celebrate down Mexico Way, or just to dine around town, don’t hesitate to contact the restaurant and they will provide you not only with excellent service but also an exciting evening you will never forget. Thanks Julie for a wonderful evening. You made our stay in Old Town PVR truly memorable. And oh, the Mexican coffee preparation is an art form in itself. So a million thanks from San Francisco, CA and we hope to see you again in our next visit. XO

We love No Way José! Good food and service. José really makes you feel like you’re at home, wether it be the soothing music he sings, or natural herbs introduced at dinner, followed by great fun after hours. Highly recommended! –from your Chicago friends!

«Finer» dining in PV. Steak was done right, as were the veggies. NWJ reminds me much of Le Gourmet, which was on Aquiles Serdan where a new condo was built. Table side Caeser salad, live entertainment, PV regulars may note the inspiration.

Went their last night. Best Mexican style food in PV. Excellent service and live entertainment on Thursday nights. The Red Snapper Veracruzana was awesome.

This is our second time we’ve eaten here for the last two Christmas. The owner actually lives in San Jose, Ca — thus part of the restaurants name! This Christmas, we couldn’t get reservations at the place we really wanted to try & opted to come back here. We ordered the Cesar salad, which they make at the table. I didn’t care for the dressing that much. Tasted like too much of egg? Don’t know what it was. Entrees — Beef Medallion, shrimp, chicken & steak. All good, but average. Even my favorite dessert, fried ice cream was just so-so. The service was great as in all the places we’ve eaten at. Can’t say enough about warm & friendly service. I would recommend this place. I noticed that eating in PV is almost like eating in the States. American food is served so often & not enough PV authentic foods except of course — Tacos!

We had a great dinner here to celebrate my birthday. I highly recommend the spicy margaritas — just the right kick. We had the table side prepared caesar salad and we all enjoyed it. I have the lobster — couldn’t have been fresher — just the right amount of garlic. Husband had the steak and the other couple had combo plates which they said were great. The service was outstanding. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Puerto Vallarta.

For the first couple of seasons they were open this was our very favorite restaurant although if I were to be totally honest I enjoyed the overall experience more than I did the food. Part of that is that is because I have literally made a thousand or more table side caesar salads over my younger years in hospitality and a bad one gets me off on the wrong foot with a restaurant and I’m not a fan of the one here. The rest of the food is OK but not mind-blowing. That is kind of my general PV experience though. I’m happy with OK because so many places don’t even reach that level. What we used to really love about No Way Jose! was the super friendly staff, especially the very lovely hostess/co-owner. She has always made us feel special until the last couple of visits when they were just totally over-booked and we ended up waiting for a table even with reservations and getting stuck at some less than desirable table in the middle of heavy waiter kitchen traffic or next to the very LOUD music entertainment. The upstairs — partly open air dining room can be really lovely though and I can’t say not to try it but we skip it more often than not because it is not inexpensive and as frequent visitors in the past we’d like to feel a little more special and we’ve just ended up feeling like an inconvenience most recently.
