We have been coming to Puerto Vallarta for over 30 years, for several weeks each trip. There are many wonderful restaurants in PV, and they get better every year. You wont find better ambiance than Si Señor — white tablecloth fine dining on the beach. Toes in the sand, waves breaking 30 feet away, eating excellent food, watching the sun set… Where can you find that? The ambiance is wonderful, the food is great, the service is very good. We go to Si Señor 2 – 3 times each visit to PV.

I was prepared to not be very impressed with this place because it’s owned by the Blue Shrimp people and I have always thought it to be very overpriced for the food and overall experience. I was pleasantly surprised on a recent visit. It was the last night for a friend’s February stay and he wanted to eat on the beach so for a nice restaurant on the beach it’s pretty much La Palapa or Si! Señor. We’ve both been to La Palapa many times for never to Si! Señor so we made a reservation. Arrive just as the sun was setting and got a front row seat on the sand complete with very attentive service and tiki torches — pretty hard to beat. Both had very nice adult beverages(he a martini and I had a margarita that they gussied up with Don Julio and Grand Marnier at the table). Munched on some very tasty fried calamari with our cocktails — so tender and crispy complete with tentacles so you know real squid were involved and not some extruded faux squid. To my surprise my friend order a filet which I probably would not do here but he thought it was terrific. I had a huge bowl of their sopa de mariscos — chock full of absolutely delicious fresh seafood. We left full and happy. Just one word of warning — just like La Palapa it is very expensive. Most mains are pushing $ 300 pesos so with cocktails and a starter and dessert if you have room, you are definitely looking at a «special occasion» tab.
