The bar and atmosphere is fine for the young crowd. Don’t and I stress DONT buy the $ 20 all you can drink wrist band. It’s a joke. Once you buy it and try to get drinks you can’t. Waitress won’t serve you, 2 of the 3 bars won’t serve you so you get put into a line with all the other wrist band people to wait, wait and wait for a weak ass drink. Better off buying what you want when you want it.

absolute rip off. we paid to get in, then paid for VIP area with booze included. Then they wouldn’t let us leave until we paid for the booze we already paid for. absolute rip off. We all spoke Spanish too, so don’t expect that to help. part of our group also left the bar for a moment and the bouncer said they’d have to wait in line again but not pay since they had a bracelet, then they made them pay again and gave them another bracelet on top of the one they already had. Renee was our server who took our money at the beginning and end.

We live in Baja and have a motto: Spring Break Forever! Papas always takes us back to the days we were 18! We always take our friend that come to visit for day drinking. The food is pretty good too. Try the«crepes”-it a pleasant surprise! and of course dancing at night-it’s electric! Great DJs and friendly staff.

Got a spring break package with the rosarito beach hotel, the staff ripped us off and didn’t give us our wristbands for papas and beer but when we told the papas staff they immediatley gave us our wristbands and free t-shirts. Considering we could’ve been lying and trying to make an extra $ 100 I was really relieved and grateful with their customer service. The venue is huge and the party was amazing, would definetly go back.

this place is insssaaane and so much fun. literally some of the best nights of my life have been here. BUT there are some people that steal phones here and have a whole system going. basically when you’re dancing near the stage here there are people touching you from all sides, so whoever is doing this will just snatch your phone right from your pocket. I lost my phone friday night and I met 4 other girls who lost their phones at the same time and in the same place. Saturday night, I know a few girls that went and lost their phones as well. Many of these girls were completely sober or just slightly buzzed. These are just the girls that I talked to, so it’s likely that many more have lost their phones as well. Papas was not at all helpful in finding our phones. They didn’t seem to care or look at all. If it weren’t for the theft and their lack of concern about our lost phones, I would give this place 5 stars. Come here if you want a great night, but just don’t bring your phone.

Great food! And the party scene in the evenings is very lively! A bucket of beer for $ 20, a great view and great food. Killer combination

Hollywood club priced low entertainment quality disco. Visited during the Labor Day weekend and got extremely disappointed. Avoid the«all you can drink» tickets: you get only mixed drinks with almost no alcohol… There is a pool for a day time pool party, but it is small and looks dirty. Positives: Workers are extremely helpful. Negatives: Overpriced entry fee. Extra light beer only so people would buy more($ 3 beer, $ 5 tequila shot). There was no real DJ, just music clips on the screen. Bathrooms…

In my two day stay in Rosarito I went to Papas and Beer 5 times. Yep 5 times. Had great service the first 3 times from Mario. Then the other two from Juan and another guy I couldn’t remember. We hit this place up during the day where it wasn’t very crowded but the taco platter was fantastic and extremely generous portions. Juan had to help us eat them. We didn’t want them to go to waste. They were delicious and I wish I hadn’t filled up on beer so I could have enjoyed more. When we came at night we brought our own party and sat at the fire pit. Music and crowd was pumping and watching those who dared ride the bull amusing. From what I remember of the night time visit I had a great night. Can’t wait to go back.

This is THE place to go to in Rosarito. I have mixed feelings about it though. The all you can drink isn’t worth it. You’ll get stuck at the bar in the corner and the drinks are watered down. The restroom has plentiful stalls but is disgusting. The food is takes forever to come out… these are some of the cons. They play top 40 music and it could get pretty rachet. Bottle service is reasonable.

Had never been here before but have seen everybody wearing their shirts forever. We went to Rosarito this past weekend, stayed at the hotel and I immediately noticed Papas & Beer down the street. In the 2 days we were there we went to Papas 5 times. Mario, behind the bar was very cool to us and though it was a bit off season we made a good time of it. Friday during the day was a bit quiet because, as I said, it’s off season. We hung out anyway and drank lots of beer. We left, walked around, came back and drank… lots of beer. Then we left again, ate dinner at the hotel, walked back bringing 4 new friends and another six that found us walking by a place they were hanging and then got a fire pit, drank lots of beer again and rocked the night away. We couldn’t have a bad time if we tried. This place is huge, by the way. I want to see it when it’s on season and the place is in full swing. It would be the largest party you’d ever see. It’s just a crazy place with multi levels, stages, dance floors, this and that and much, much more. Next day we came back again during the day and it was a bit more lively. We hung out, drank lots of beer, left again to go eat dinner at the hotel then back for the Rousey vs Holmes fight on a huge screen. Lots of people and lots of fun. It’s just a fun experience. It’s one of those places you gotta check out. I will definitely go again. Almost forgot to mention, they do have food and it’s good. We did have a taco platter at one point. I just don’t remember at what point.

This place was by far my worst experience ever! We came down to Rosarito for a fun Halloween weekend and Papas and Beer was a huge disappointment. The cover charge was $ 20 w/a 30 minute wait to get in. The drinks are horrible. I asked the bar tender for a blue Hawaiian and he made a watered down amf. The place was too crowded!!! Papas and beer please get it together!

This place is great. We go there when ever we are in rosarito. Ask for Roy he will take such good care of you! We have so much fun there. The lobster is to die for! And the drinks are yummy and so cheap. Security has been amazing they even walked me to my car when so strange guys were giving me the creeps and they kicked them out.(American guys) you can go right out to the beach. You have ride the bull and play in the sand!

They advertise to the spring break crowd. If you are over the age of 22, this place just feels ghetto with high prices and terrible food and overpriced cheap booze and loud music. And the funny thing is there is another review here that says almost the exact same thing about it but rates the same experience as 5 stars. Its on the beach, but there is normally a firm wind coming in so its not that great. When I was there, lunchtime on the weekend, the place had the after party smell. Note that I am not reviewing on its merits as a weekend party place, just as a bar on the beach in the Rosarito. If I was rating it for a get-drunk-and-party place this would get 5 stars. Its got a beach volleyball court inside, with a bar right next to it. How cool is that:??? If you are just looking for a restuarant, go somewhere else. Actually, leave Rosarito all together and drive 10 minutes south. Great little bars, wine places and restaurants are dotted all down the coast with good food and some incredible views.

Review 27 What a fun place to have tons of laughs and spiked drinks! This Papas & Beer has dozens of areas to hang out, activities including volleyball and a mechanical Bull(no video) rofl. I’m a kid at heart and will try anything once after the last time. My favorite place to hangout is where I can view it all, relax and have a conversation… and make bets on who down below is more charismatic. Lol If you missed last spring break, come down here cause it’s spring break every weekend!!! Beware the streets are saturated with Federales, drink and drive if you like to visit the local jail :) Plan B.

First time here for my birthday during spring break. We will be coming back very soon with all our friends this time. Roy is the best. He goes out of his way to make sure you have a good time. Got me a custom drink and a free taco platter since the spring break VIP thing wasn’t ready. Cool atmosphere. Only thing on the downside were the bathrooms but with everything else I looked past it. I miss it already and want to go back. The food is decent. Don’t forget to go to the papas & beer store across the street and get some rad shirts and stickers. !!

I’ve been going here for years. Unfortunately, probably the only happening place in town since 2007 when the tourism dropped off(still hasn’t really recovered). Avoid the ‘all you can drink’ bar… it’s a value but the alcohol is bottom of the barrel and it’ll do a number on your liver. Friendly staff, good DJ(at times), and something you have to experience at least once in your life!

Great times at Papas & Beer! I got the wristband for the open bar but it takes forever just to get acknowledged! Your best bet is to sit on the tables on the sand and flag down the waiters roaming around. I enjoy watching other patrons order a specific shot where the bartender pour it down your mouth(multiple times), shakes your head then proceeds to spin you around. Never would have because even the bartenders get drunk with you! Papas & Beer has a VIP area that’s underneath the DJ booth for $ 200 you get a choice of two bottles or a bottle and 30 beers. The lady who was supposed to refill our beers or mixers was hardly seen. So I guess if you’re a party of more than 12, I recommend it to split the difference and not having to flag down a bartender to get a watered down drink. Seriously the bumper stickers are kind of hard to get from there unless you’re willing to show a lil’ sumthin’ sumthin.’ Or you can buy one from their shop across the street.

Bottom Line: This might be the best place to fall off of a mechanical bull in Baja… C’mon, you’ve seen the bumper stickers — this place has been a staple of Rosarito for a very long time. It attracts everyone from college kids to dirt bikers to come and relax. This is an absolutely perfect place to sit out, drink too many beers and pass the time away. It’s usually filled with lots of other similarly minded people. If there is a downside, it’s that this place can become a zoo… or is that a plus? This place is huge and they have lots of things to do — or you can just sit by the fire pit and accidentally light your sandals on fire(I heard someone did that, it was most certainly not me) — or as I mentioned above, fall off the mechanical bull(also not me). It’s your choice…
