The meal was amazing! Very cool atmosphere. Everything was great, but I would highly recommend the octopus! The Chef is also super friendly.

Not all it should /could be. Dining at this level should blow your mind, every time! No excuses. We ate here last week, I have dined at many other restaurants in the valley, Finca, Laja, Corazon… I appreciate the beautiful atmosphere of Deckmans but the food just does Not measure up. 3 of our 6 person party had the tasting menu. the other 3 ordered carte . The best dish by far out of all was the Hot soup and that was not part of the tasting menu. Also the risotto was fantastic, also not on the tasting menu. The food nor the service warrant the 65.00/p.p price tag, No how, no way. Not one dish from this meal was memorable and we walked away hungry. Maybe this is the off season and they are not into what they are doing. i don’t know, I just know I was far from blown away. Will try again next time in Baja.

Deckman’s is certainly an experience that must not be passed up. First, you need to have a reservation to sit down so definitely call ahead. Second, the setting is truly rustic. It was s chilly December afternoon but they had blankets. All the food is prepared outside. We feasted on rib eye, pork belly, fresh green salads, ceviche, two bottles of wine… among other amazing bites. The guys had the 5-course tasting menu. Only down side was they were served pork cheek instead of pork belly… not the tastiest but the other dishes made up for it. Highly recommend.

The owner was rude, and seemed either stressed out or irritated to be cooking. The staff seemed either untrained, inexperienced or wanting to go home. The food was ok, not great. There are sooooo many AMAZING restaurants in the Valle area I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time or money here. Sorry I tried as we have friends who know the owner but there is just no excuse for our experience.

BESTMEALOFMYLIFE!!! and i have traveled all over the world and am a regular at vegas top restaurants. The atmosphere is amazing. Even better than the outdoor rustic setting and awesome vineyard view is the outdoor kitchen MADE by owner/chef Drew. The food is 5-star quality and changes daily depending on availability of fresh ingredients. True«farm to table».(see Omnivore’s Dilemma) The wines r local/mexican: try the Cab Franc!!! I sailed down to Endenada by myself from San Diego and ild do it again just to go here; although, in honesty, ild have to plan on going at least three nights in a row to make it the sole reason for the trip. and if u r up for an adventure, wait until after dark and ask them to show u where the restroom is; they will hand u a flashlight and point u down a(poorly lit and) long path. Totally awesome. also awesome r the three Great Pyranese dogs running around. totally huggable and friendly!!! see u when the winds allow for another transit!

We showed up for the thanksgiving 8 course tasting. No one sat us for 10 minutes. We then asked to sit down. They said sure. We waited another 10 minutes and son one even offers us wine, water or menus. When we flagged hem down in a restaurant that is no more than 10 tables, they gave us the wine pairing and it was a first class of champagne in a regular wine glass. When the first course came it was the first three at once. It got worse. They never explained one dish they put down. They never explained the wine either. I’ve honestly never been so rushed with such poor service. I wish it would have been great. But it wasn’t. I would never even try to go again

5 stars for Ambiance. You can’t beat the rustic setting. The property was absolutely beautiful and the journey to get there was amazing. The food was very good but not spectacular. I definitely recommend this place for the experience. Just don’t set your expectations too high. Clearly they took a lot of time to prepare the food and the presentation was beautiful. We paid about $ 80 per person including wine and tip so I’m not complaining at all about the price. I only expected more because I had read some reviews and was equating Deckman’s with a more upscale experience. I believe the three stars is a fair overall rating. Would I go back? Sure, but only after trying many of the other highly rated places in the valley. Maybe we’d make this a stop for some wine and then move on for dinner next time.

Trying to find a restaurant in the dark at the end of a windy Mexican backcountry road, more or less makes everything worthwhile. This is especially true when you’re heading for cluster of lights in the darkness, and you have a especially attractive dining companion, who’s so distracting that you end up driving into the vineyard surrounding the place in the dark. This whole experience is made even better when you get there and discover its amazing. Deckman’s is expensive by Mexican standards, but its also one of the most pleasant spots in the Valle de Guadeloupe and is in every way amazing. Few people come to Guadeloupe from LA, and this is a good thing, because it keeps it a secret. Magical.

I cannot get over the design and architect of every place I went to in Valle de Guadalupe. But for Deckman’s, I was so excited to dine in the building made out of haystacks, pallets, and mud(or is it clay?), it was awesome looking! The day was a bit on the warmer side, so it could have been a lil cooler, but the place was super cute! Hay covered the floor, and fresh flowers stuck out of vases here and there. The group of us ordered mainly the chef’s course, but we added abalone, and a poussin dish too. All the food was delicious! First came oysters, which we all slurped down real fast, then there was beef tongue. My favorite dish from here was the pork chop. It was perfectly crisped! a ton of other dishes in between, I can’t remember them all, but there was no bad dish. The bathroom is a bit far. You have to past the chicken coup to get there. How cool is it they have a chicken coup with like 50 plus chickens?!

I can not say enough about Deckmans and Chef Drew. Unbelievable food, great service, and just an unforgettable experience. We had a group of a dozen guys visiting Rosarito from LA. We had so much fun that the next day we started planning our next trip to Mexico, and specifically to Deckmans. I wish I could remember more of what we ate. We had the full Chef’s Menu. Appetizers, a seafood course, incredible steak, great dessert. There were numerous bottles of wine and then tequila after dessert. Drew took care of everything and I ate everything he served. One thing that stood out for me is I hate shellfish and honestly threw up the last time I had oysters. It didn’t matter. I said I’m eating anything Chef Drew cooks, because when you are experiencing a meal from someone that talented, you just enjoy the ride. We had some of the freshest, most amazing oysters I could possibly imagine. Delicious. I wish I could write a better review. But I’m headed back in a few months. I’ll add more detail then. And I’ll just say, if you are looking for amazing food and an unforgettable experience, include a meal at Deckman’s in your visit to Rosarito/Ensanada.
