The Mega Store is a nice store kind of like a Super Walmart on steroids. You definitely can find everything your family needs here. They have a huge bakery with various treats, breads, cupcakes, muffins, etc. We picked up muffins a couple of days for breakfast. The store has a pharmacy, electronics department, household and hygiene items, suitcases, clothes, etc. This is a good place to stock up on drinks and snacks to take back to the hotel. We stopped at the pharmacy to purchase iron tablets and none of the employees spoke English. There are timeshare guys that pretend to offer assistance and then try to get you to attend a timeshare presentation. I took a point off because of them. So Annoying! Overall, it’s a great store with reasonable prices.

Mega is an understatement, this is a colossal market that carries everything that I need on a Cabo vacation. The store is well stocked with food, drinks, fresh fish, produce, appliances, beauty products, bikinis and even motorcycles. It is kind of like a Walmart, but a much nicer store with great products. The moment you walk in the door you are hit with the aroma of freshly baked bread. A panadería pumps out the requisite bolillos y teleras, and so much more. Pasteles stuffed with custard and fruits with flaky butter pastry, cakes and meat filled breads can be found in abundance here. The next stop in the lineup is the wine and liquor room. Their product lines range from inexpensive to high quality with price points for everyone. Forget the old steriotypical Mexican wine, Valle de Guadalupe is producing imaginative artisanal wine blends rivaling those from California’s. ¡Qué bueno! If you have any room after loading up your cart with bread and booze, you will hit the dairy section. Yogurt dominates this section, and even if you are not a huge yogurt fan, get some of it. It will keep your gut in check even if you overload it with lime juice and tequila. On to the eggs and meat, Mexicans love eggs and their eggs are better than the ones we get in the us and sold by the flat. Up next is my favorite section, the pescadería! Wahoo, yellowtail, seabass, giant clams, the list goes on and the fish is outstanding. You will fine fresh whole fish on ice after the daily catch comes in. They also sell about 6 different kinds of ceviche and it is serve yourself. The different flavors and colors make it easy to whip up an afternoon delight. If you do not want to cook at all then select some ready-made entrees from their kitchen. The corn tortillas are always hot and fresh, with both blue and traditional corn options. Pair this with one of the 3 fresh salsas and find yourself immersed in Baja’s culture My last stop is usually the produce section. The mounds of limes are separated by traditional big ones or more juicy key limes so pick up a big bag of them. That’s right, they have both medium and large produce bags. You can get peppers of all flavors, color and heat levels toos. Don’t forget the avocado, tomato and onions. I usually stop shopping there, unless for some reason I find myself needing clothes, sunscreen or shampoo, but is is nice to know that Mega has my back. Bring some money to tip the baggers and get on with your vacation. ¡Salud!

Where else but in Mexico can you grocery shop in a store overlooking the ocean. It’s crazy. I’ve been going to Cabo for 15 years and always had to rely on the tiny markets to try and get groceries. Then Costco came to Cabo which was great if you had 6 people staying with you. I just don’t stay in Mexico long enough for Costco to be cost effective. So when Mega opened a store in San Jose I was ecstatic. Its a supermarket and department store in one. Kind of like a Mega Wal-Mart or Target Superstore. Pretty much anything you can think of(with the exception of horseradish). They have American booze if you like to stick with what you know and they of course have Mexican brands as well. They have a bakery section, meat counter, fresh produce, salsa bar and fresh made tortillas. Dairy, dessert, pharmacy, electronics I could go on and on. Mega is our first stop when we hit Cabo. Usually one trip tides us over for the entire 8 days we are there. They take credit cards and you are expected to tip the baggers(who only get paid via tips) I usually give them 10 pesos if my order is small. A buck if I buy a lot. You also can get your car washed while you shop. For those of you who have a car in Mexico. It’s a beautiful well laid out, clean store with very nice employees. My only warning is that there are time share salesman in the store. They appear to be store employees and pretend to want to help you when really they want you to sign up for a 3 hours presentation. They are usually in some type of vest. When they come up to us and appear to be helpful we always ask where the horseradish is. That usually confuses them enough that they disappear.

Great for picking up anything you couldn’t bring or forgot while in Cabo. Like other reviewers mentioned it is basically like a Super Walmart… so you can find anything, EXCEPT souvenirs! But they did have beach toys and other things to make your stay fun. There is a big fresh foods area to pick up things to eat, a big bakery, and a coffee stand within the store. The produce all looked very fresh too! They also have a big pharmacy area with over the counter medications if you get sick, as well as lots of beauty products. Clean store, well organized and good prices.

Omg, I loved this supermarket/department store it reminds you of a superwalmart in the South. They had a huge section of groceries, household stuff and a large area of liquors and wine. We initially were supposed to stay in a hotel that wasn’t all inclusive and we were informed about this mega to stock up on necessities for the week. The prices were reasonable even though they were all marked in pesos. We had our currency exchanger on deck to ensure we were ok with the prices. There were lots of people shopping and purchasing items that looked like that were vacationing. They have a large parking lot in addition to taxi’s lined up waiting for your service. The staff were friendly and all of your immediate needs can be found in this mega. I wouldn’t hesitate to return here again for big shopping items or just to pick up a few things. Just like everywhere else in Cabo, you had your timeshare solicitors but a friendly no and you keep walking and you’re good to go.

I’ve stopped by this shopping center several times during my stay in Los Cabos. This supermarket is huge and reminds me of Wal-mart because they sell pretty much everything. They even had motorbikes on display and for sale in the front area! The produce appeared to be very fresh and so did their other fresh foods. When in Mexico and you are looking for one stop shopping Mega is the way to go. BUT do expect to be stopped by various timeshare representatives while you shop. If you are interested in timeshare presentation offers see Julio Rios — very helpful and friendly guy — and he was not rude when we turned him down… well at first we turned him down LOL
