No vuelvo.

I must confess that, even though my pallet is modestly knowledgeable of international flavors, I do not consider myself to be a connoisseur of Italian cuisine. I do not know of authentic Italian food or would be able to recognize it upon eating it. All I know are the Italian versions we get on this side of the Atlantic. What my pallet can tell adequately is whether food is delicious or not, and Nabucco offers Italian food that is very delicious. Nabucco is also one of Queretaro’s longest-standing restaurants, having been open probably even before my childhood self knew what pesto was. It is a restaurant that probably every true Queretano, those born and raised here, knows about and that every true Queretano has been to at least once. The food is tasty, hearty, and comforting. The wide menu includes many of the typical dishes you might find at any other Italian restaurant: a variety of pastas like bolognese and al pesto, salads, classics like chicken Parmesan, and pizzas baked in a brick oven. You’ll also find quirky things that make this restaurant even more enchanting, like offering bolillo for bread, and giving you Maggie sauce for your pizza. Without a doubt, the pizzas mean to Nabucco what the famous opera meant to Verdi; they established the eatery’s fame and are now considered a classic in the city’s gastronomical panorama. The crunchy thin crust is delightful, and there are multiple ingredient combinations that you can order, from the more traditional pizzas to others that are more oriented towards Mexican flavors. An Italian classic in this city, Nabucco has stood the test of time and taste, and remains as one of best options for Italian fare in Queretaro.
