Chef Mickey’s Place is our favorite restaurant in Rocky Point! Food taste and quality is off the charts good! Chef Mickey is friendly and gets to know you by name! Coconut shrimp and any dish with green chillies is amazing! Finish with the coconut rum flan and you won’t be disappointed! We go to this restaurant every time we are in Rocky Point and have eaten Thanksgiving dinner there about 6x! Recommend! A+

No complaints here at all! The ambiance was perfect and the service was amazing. We were treated so well. The food came out fast and it was just more than amazing! I got the Tarragon Salmon Salad and my fiancé got the steak. Both were super delicious! After we got the crème brûlée. Also perfection. We will be dropping by here every time we visit Rockypoint!

Perfect for any city. To reach this standard of excellence in a town like Rocky Point is incredible. Never disappointed, but always astounded by Mickey’s vision and how he integrates local flavors into outstanding continental cuisine. I’d give him six stars if they were available. Try it, you will never forget your meal! Thank you!

We loved it. Good attentive staff. Chef Medina graciously stopped for pictures. The stuffed dates and shrimp appetizer was iron chef winner in 2012. Yum. We had crab stuffed flounder and pecan encrusted flounder. Both tasty. The bananas foster was delicious served in a fried tortilla bowl that was sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, a nice«homey» twist. Made for a nice night out, just off the beaten path in otherwise touristy Rocky Point. We plan to be «regulars»!

What a wonderful meal we had tonight! Everything here was just right… a little ambience, delicious food, and friendly, attentive service. My husband and I both had filet mignon that was melt in your mouth tender and perfectly cooked. We had the Filet Au Poirve and Rosemary Garlic filet(which I thought was the better of the two). The coconut rum flan for dessert was to die for! Highly recommend Mickey and his staff for a superb dining experience.

Literally just got back from dinner here and had to write, even though stuffed and ready to pass out in a food coma. The other reviews are on point; the service was great and chef even came out to chat and discuss the method of his brilliance a bit. We started with ceviche which isn’t on menu but is my husbands favorite and chef made one based on flounder. It came out in a huge portion served with avocado, mayo and tortilla chips/saltines. On their rec, we ate the ceviche on the mayo-slathered chips topped with a squirt of hot sauce. Oh. My. God. So good. We had the Carlos the 5th(read: bacon-wrapped) shrimp and chicken mole, both of which were fantastic. Finished off with the coconut flan, also fantastic, with 2 glasses Pinot Grigio and a Cesar salad for $ 82. What? Yes, $ 82. Seriously, if you could even get a similar meal in Phoenix, which you can’t, you’d spend well over $ 100 easy. We are going back tomorrow, and maybe the next night. Sadly, then we have to go home.

Rocky Point’s best kept secret! The food is amazing, but their wait staff puts this restaurant at a 5 star. Miguel makes the best margarita in town! I’ve enjoyed every dish I have tried, but it’s always hard to decide between the steak gorgonzola & the New Mexico chicken. Bananas foster dessert is a must! Order it first!

Thanksgiving Day traditional meal! We found Mickey’s place through reviews, made reservations for Thanksgiving Day, and were pleasantly surprised by a traditional Thanksgiving Day menu! 4 adults and 5 kids, ages 4 – 10, enjoyed a wonderfully cooked meal! It was so good we returned for our last dinner in Puerto Penasco(Rocky Point) for a taste of Chef Mickey’s regular menu, which also left us all completely satisfied. Great food! Great atmosphere! Great Chef! Thank you for the memories Chef Mickey!

We were very excited to try this place. We’ve heard a lot about it and Unilocal reviews were positive. Tucked in the back of a plaza is a quaint sign letting you know you’ve arrived. The small area to be greeted at was right next to a large table of people already dining. We were shown our table so were weren’t standing there long, it was a little awkward. The menu was sticky to the touch and needed a good wiped down. The menu offered a lot of choices but seemed repetitive as most of the appetizers were smaller versions of the entrees. All in all the food was good and it was a nice change of pace to the abundance of local food. We were slightly disappointed the shrimp for our shrimp appetizer was breaded. Heavy breaking. It distracted from the flavor of the shrimp and the delicious sauces that came with each shrimp. As we dinned the place got busier and the service slowed. We did have the crème brûlée which was delish! We will come back but next time make sure what we are dining on is not also what we are having for appetizers!

This joint is the shit! Mickey creates the most delicious plates you could ever imagine. Chipotle-mango– raspberry dishes! Best place in Puerto Peñasco! Iron Chef champion 2015 is Manuel! This kitchen kicks ass!

Great food. Surprisingly affordable. Chef Mickey was super nice. I was in Puerto Penasco for a bachelor party. One of the guys on the trip wanted to check out Mickey’s restaurant because he saw him on the TV show Iron Chef in the US. The food lived up to the hype and the service was just as good. Since Penasco is known for seafood, I had the stuff dates and shrimp. They were amazing. Most of the guys had either the filet mignon or the skirt steak. They all had great things to say about their meals.

Decent elegant dining with delicious menu! The hunny and I heard about this spot from trip advisor and then from a las Paloma’s owner in the pool! Sunday night is a slow slow time apparently as there was only 1 other table when we arrived around 7:30pm. We are greeted and invited to sit where we like. I start with a margarita and my husband has a beer. We want something seafood & something local so we opt for fajitas and stuffed flounder with the shrimp starter. The yummy garlic bread & shrimp arrive fairly quickly. Love the 4 preparations: marinara, coconut with mango aioli, jalapeño stuffed, and bacon wrapped in a cream sauce shot. Absolutely delicious!!! We like the jalapeño stuffed most of course. Salads are very light and simple. Our crab stuffed flounder with green beans is delicious though the green beans undercooked and butter sauce overly rich for my style. The fajitas have fresh ingredients though not seasoned at all based on our taste. The tortillas are delicious though we would have liked a cooling element such as a pico, salsa or guacamole. While we were eating a gentleman came in selling roses. When we declined he said«they are real». No thanks buddy! For dessert we opt for the bananas foster which is served in a fried tortilla cup on vanilla ice cream. There is very little sauce and the bananas were barely even warm. We were very underwhelmed with this dish. At the end we waited quite a while for the bill & finally the gentleman nudged our server to check on us. I’m assuming it was Mickey who was taller with long hair asked us if «everything alright?» Which we said yes though his demeanor did not inspire us to elaborate at all.
