Just happend to stop by 7 – 11 to grab some cash. And notice the plaza behind. I decided to look around and found this spot hide in the back. The place is a bit small, but nice. The first thing I notice was the prices of the food were a bit high, but I could tell this was not the corner tacos place. We order the steak, shrimp, and the pasta They brought us complimentary chips and beans wi th cheese. Then came our lentil soup which was the best lentil soup I have ever had. Then came my food I order the shrimp. I was a little disappointed at the small portion of rice at first, BUT the food was soooo delicious and the hand made tortilla made up for it. My cousin order the steak the larger portion and wow!!! That was a lot of meat, but he enjoyed it. And my wife order the pasta, and said it was phenomenal. All in a ll a bit price, but it was delicious. The chef has amazing«sason»!!

This is a lovely place. If you’re not a big meat eater, don’t let the steakhouse name scare you off, they’ll be glad to accommodate all sorts of requests, and their vegetable side dishes and appetizers are just as good as their steaks. Their soups are amazing. All the cream-based soups are delicious, rich and savory but don’t feel too«heavy»…if you want something lighter, their lentil soup is great. Avoid the«taco shop» type items like the flautas and the sopes though, I don’t think they do a great job with these. I only found this place because one of the waiters at Cien Anos(another Tijuana restaurant) left and started working here, and I missed his friendly and attentive service. His name is Guadalupe, if you happen to see him there, enjoy his gracious and friendly demeanor. He also speaks some English. I’ll admit, the service is the main draw of the place for me, and there are other great restaurants in Tijuana that rival or exceed the food here. However, the food at D’Rivera is quite delicious and beautifully presented. Spotless and clean restaurant. For those gringos anxious about crossing the border, this is in a good area, in a small, quiet shopping center, and, like any good restaurant in Tijuana, you have no food safety/water concerns to worry about. This place is a little hard to find, and not all the taxi drivers are familiar with plaza milenio(the shopping center where this is located). If you give them the address they’ll be able to get there, and if you see the Pemex station and the 7 – 11 next to each other, you’re close!
