This a great place to get some AYCE Mexican food while in Tijuana. We came on a Saturday and the parking lot was bustling with cars trying to find a space. It looks more chaotic than it looks as there is only one way in and one way out, but have patience, there are plenty of spots for everyone. When first walk up to the restaurant, you’re greeted with a beautiful garden like area with gazebos, fountains and plants. There is seating for while you wait for your table, and I heard it doubles as an event space when needed. It was a great place to snap some pics after the fact with everyone that joined us for eats. I thought the food was awesome and loved the addition of the made-to-order items like French Toast, chilaquiles, chile rellenos, burritos, omelets and more. I got the chilaquiles rojo and they were good, but I was really blown away by Jaime’s chilaquiles smothered in mole sauce. I unfortunately didn’t know what all of the items were on the menu since they were in Spanish, but I would have definitely went that route if I would have known. Another stand out for me were the tamales… again with mole. There were four different ones to choose from, but the mole was the only keyword that I recognized, so I had to try it. Next to the selection are huge vats of abondigas and menudo which some of the locals swore was some of the best that TJ had to offer. They also have a ton of different desserts and I really enjoyed the cookies and cakes that were available. Coffee service was good as well and I really enjoyed my Americano coffee. I still think Mexican coffee is fantastic… I don’t know what they do to it, but it’s so smooth. The place was quite loud when we went but was told that this was not the norm. There was a DJ that was not only spinning 50 Cent during breakfast, but doing a one-woman karaōke show with some traditional Mexican hits. I didn’t really mind this, but it was so loud that we couldn’t hold a conversation amongst our group of 10, so we spent a lot of time pointing and shrugging. For $ 10US or $ 150 in Pesos, it was a super filling and cheap way to experience a lot of different Mexican foods. If you have kids, they have a huge playground to keep them occupied while the adults eat — I thought that was pretty clever. I’d eat here again on a return visit!
