If you just so happen to want to go to TJ for candy, especially a good amount of it, this is your place. In my case, candy is needed for children’s parties; piñatas & candy bags, a Mexican staple. Mega Dulces offers a variety of Mexican candy for a much better price than other candy shops in Tijuana & obviously cheaper than the states. The store has about 10 aisles of candy goodness. The variety is amazing. Some childhood favorites include: paleta payaso, anything tamarindo(tamarind candy such as Pelon), cacahuate japonés(«Japanese» peanuts), Duvalin, Masapan, Paleta Manita, & Tootsie pops. Mega Dulces also offers a selection of piñatas, however, they can be found cheaper in places like Mercado Hidalgo. Towards the back left of the store there is a small section of other goods such as banners, utensils, party favors & random themed decorations. The selection isn’t great but it’s worth looking around. Overall, this place is your go-to for all your mexican candy needs. They will pack everything up for you in boxes, if they have them, which is so much more convenient when traveling in car. Take pesos.
