Tacos El Francés

Been coming to this taco spot every time I come out to TJ since I was a kid.
Quality is always consistent and I still recognize some of the hostesses from years ago.
They have taco meat of all kinds to choose from including asada, al pastor, lengua & tripa just to name a few.
I always go for asada with everything on it. This includes beans, onions, chili sauce, and a creamy guacamole sauce that has a little kick.
Still my favorite tacos to date. A family favorite.

There are many great taquerias in Baja, and I’ve been in dozens of them (but haven’t been in thousands?), and this one has the best tacos I’ve ever had anywhere in Northern Baja, period.
I got couple carne asada and adobados, and my wife had lengua, plus side of guacamole and beans. Literally everything we ordered was made right to the point.
I eat a lot of tacos in Baja and always try new places, but those were the ones I still remember.
Will be back for sure when I’m in that area.

Mejores tacos de tijuana sin lugar a dudas! Siempre buenísimos! Se dice que son los que más venden carne asada en todo tijuana y no lo dudo siempre esta llenisimo el lugar. Tortillas hechas a mano, carnes de gran calidad y una salsa de aguacate muy rica hacen de este lugar el ideal para tacos.

Absolutely the best tacos in Tijuana. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and I have a tendency to stop at any taco stand or location that looks decent and that I haven’t tried, but nobody comes close. They use quality ingredients and they make their own tortillas. These are the real deal. Tacos El Frank is also part of their chain and are just as good in case you don’t want to drive all the way down to the end of Playas de Tijuana.

The tacos de adobada here were awesome. My husband and in laws loved the lengua and carne asada tacos. The best part, aside from everything being so delicious were the cebollas and chiles asados. I can’t believe in all my years of eating tacos from tijuana, I had never been here. I can’t wait to go back and eat here again!

I first visited tacos el frank about 2 years ago and I haven’t stopped going back. I go to playas just for these tacos, I’ve never had a bad batch of tacos. I stick to adobada because the taco shops in California can’t even come close. I think this please is insanely cheap unless you start ordering quesatacos! I recommend it to anyone in the area!

Went here on a walk and got Carne Asada tacos– high quality, good flavor, plus radishes and cucumber (con limon y sal)

Tengo mas de 20 años visitando este lugar y sin duda alguna son los mejores tacos que he probado. Aparte de que el servicio es inigualable, los tacos están increíblemente deliciosos. Sus porciones son mas que generosas! La carne asada esta sazonada a la perfección, las quesadillas con tortillas hechas mano, las cebollitas y pepinos que te ofrecen en la barra. La tripa siempre frita a la perfección.
En mi humilde opinión no has probado tacos hasta no probar El Francés.

Muy ricos, tengo años llendo a comer al frances. Mis tacos favoritos, para mi son los mas ricos. Pero a cada rato suben de precio y eso ya no me gusto. Ahorita ya estan a $ 20 pesos el taco. Hace un mes estaban a $ 18 pesos. Ya iremos mucho menos si esque nada por el precio. Pero a pesar de eso estsn bien buenos

Los mejores tacos de Playas de Tijuana, tengo como 25 años comiendo tacos en este lugar, mis favoritos son los de adobada, me atrevo a decir que es la mejor carne adobada que he probado en mi vida. Los de asada tiene un detalle … les ponen frijoles y esto les quita mucho sabor. Los de Tripa no los preparan bien y por ultimo recomendare los de suadero, tienen una salsa de tomatillo RIQUISIMA!!!

Este tema es muy delicado, ya que para cada quien, tiene sus preferencias y definición de qué son buenos tacos. Para mí los mejores eran los manzana, después probé los del Frank y se me hacían lo mejor de lo mejor, ahora deguste los del Francés y no se diga, que hasta la tortilla me supo exquisita. O no sé, si me supieron mejor porque fueron de gorra. ¡jajajaja!
Ya que sigo de festín y me los invito mi best friend de la universidad, y lo disfrute de lo lindo, porque comimos hasta llenarnos, me comí uno de asada, cabeza, y de lengua y me faltó de los demás, pero eso sería ¡demasiada gula!
Pero no se preocupen si fui a bajar los tacos, recorrí el malecón, y eso ya me hizo sentirme de nuevo ligerita, para tomarme mi acostumbrado chai. ¡Jajajajaja!

Muy buenos tacos. Toda una tradición en Playas de Tijuana. ¿Porqué no les puse mas estrellas?
Porque no los vale a 20 pesos el taco y 20 pesos por soda. Hay varias opciones en playas donde se puede comer igual de bien a mejor precio. No tengo nada en contra de pagar mas por comida excelente (vean mi reseña de Kokopelli — los tacos están a mas del doble pero lo valen).
Habiendo dicho eso, los de adobada (al pastor para los lectores defeños) probablemente son lo mejor en su menú.

Best tacos in a great lil neighborhood. The carne asada tacos are fresh, cook to order and bursting from the seams! These lil fattys come with delicious meat, onions, cilantro, salsa, guacamole and beans! Yum I am a sucker for great carne asada so I could eat these all day!
If you sit at the bar they will offer grilled chiles and a grilled white onion… OMG! This was so bomb my mouth is watering. They cut up a small white onion in large chunks and they marinate the onion in foil with La Choy soy sauce and that’s it! Grill that bad boy… BAM A BOMB ASS SIDE Dish! So good and so worth the drive!

Hands down the absolute best tacos iv ever had, and I don’t say that lightly…
Not one place in the US even comes close to this spot. The food here is so ridiculously good that the place is almost always packed.
They are definitely not stingy on anything here, the tortillas are handmade on the spot and always fresh and the meat is cooked perfectly tender.

Best Tacos in TJ… Trust me, I’m really picky when it comes to tacos.
I know playas is a little out of the way but trust me, BOMB TACOS!!!
The corn tortillas are always made fresh handmade and and the meat is delicious and tender.
Pro tip= sit at the bar in front of the Taco MASTERS!!! You will immediately get amazed by how fast the work… You will see how he grabs his magical spoons and grabs salsa, guacamole, beans and throws them in the air and catches everything on his tortilla, it’s freaking awesome.
The «Quesadillas» are HUGE!!! And you can get on corn of flour tortillas and your choice of any meat. My favorite meat is «ADOBADA» I always try to get it crispy.

The best tacos in the best part of Tijuana: Playas!!!
So many great memories come to mind, I grew up eating this tacos. Saturday nights in our pjs my dad would take us to «El Frances», then as I grew older Friday nights after school we would walk from my BFF’s house to get tacos, after partying and now when I go back home I must get my taco fix.
Watching the «taqueros» in action is like watching samurais. The tortilla goes on their hands and then flip, flop, swishing of meat, onions, cilantro and salsa and boom it’s done.
The best place to eat tacos is at the bar, where you watch all the action and get the tacos faster.
My two favorite tacos are: al pastor and suadero. Try them and ask for the meat to be crispy or as I would say: «la carne bien doradita porfís».
If for some crazy wild reason you can’t make it all the way to Playas to Tacos El Frances then you could go to Tacos Franc. It’s ok they are related and they are closer to the border.
Also this place has their own parking lot.

Estos son los mejores tacos que hay en playas de tijuana. Y si estas en el area vale la pena venir aqui a probar un taco de asada o de adobada (o los dos ;)) Lo que mas me gusta de aqui, es que le ponen frijoles a los tacos de carne asada que le da un toque especial y unico. Lo que ultimamente me ha gustado pedir cuando vengo aqui son las mulitas, son de las mejores que he probado en Tijuana, y eso que he probado bastantes.
Otra cosa que es necesaria saber de este lugar es que los tacos tienen un tamaño mas grande que el usual, lo que para mi justifica el precio y la manejada. Si me preguntan, que comer en Playas de Tijuana? me remonto inmediato a tacos El Francés, lo mejor en su categoría con tacos de asada, tripa, suadero, adobada, lengua y no puede faltar sus quesadillas con riquísimo queso asadero. Amo de ese lugar los tacos de lengua y tripita bien asados, con mucho guacamole, ademas me gusta mucho el servicio puesto que como cuentan con area de mesas y sillas, si vas en familia no es necesario que esten todos parados en la barra, asi que si llevan bebes o simplemente son varios, ya sabes que ninguno quedara parado y comerás agusto con buen servicio y al igual tu carro estará seguro en el estacionamiento con el que cuentan. No olvides comerte un riquísimo taquito de adobaba con una rebanadita de piña que es lo mejor como broche de oro. Sin duda esto tacos son una rica tradición de Playas de Tijuana y con mucho éxito siguen caminando apesar de la competencia que no les afecta en ningún sentido.

Los primeros tacos que conocí aquí en Tijuana o de los cuales tengo memoria son los Tacos del Francés de Playas de Tijuana, viviendo en el Mirador nos quedaban cerca y mis papá nos llevaban ahí con frecuencia.
Los tacos del Francés tienen un sabor único y especial, a mi me encantan los de carne azada, con las tortillas recién hechas, su auténtico guacamole y frijolitos de bola, también los tacos de adobada a la plancha con la carne bien doradita y las mulitas con queso y carne las cuales están muy sabrosas. Todo muy bien servido.
Para otros gustos, tienen también tacos de cabeza, lengua, cachete, suadero, tripita, etc…
Me llama mucho la atención que a pesar de tantos años y tanta competencia que hay se mantienen en pie y con éxito, ya que es muy común ver este lugar lleno.
Actualmente se han ampliado y cuentan con meseros muy amables.
También tienen un estacionamiento.

11. Tacos el Francés
Muchos de mis amigos aquí en Tijuana discutimos sobre cuáles son las características de un buen taco y un buen lugar de tacos; todas las respuestas apuntan al precio, sabor, higiene, rapidez y variedad. Si ese lugar existe seguramente será Tacos El Francés.
En este lugar podrás disfrutar de excelentes tacos de gran calidad y sabor; siempre te atienden súper rápido y muy amablemente. Otra cosa que distingue a tacos el francés es el tamaño, ya que los tacos que te sirven están bien reportados, lo que provoca que quedes satisfecho en poco tiempo.
En este lugar tienes que probar los tacos de carne asada y adobada; recuerda que las tortillas son hechas a mano, y el guacamole tiene esa consistencia «aldente» los frijolitos de la olla siempre en su punto y la cereza del pastel, la salsa ¡Ufff! para chuparse los dedos.
El lugar de Tacos el francés es muy amplio, cuanta con bastantes mesas y sillas por lo que es poco probable que tengas que hacer fila para que te den mesa. Si lo tuyo es estar enfrente del asador, la barra es un buen lugar pues siempre estarás a los ojos del taquero y siempre te podrá atender con rapidez. El lugar también tiene baños que siempre están limpios al igual que el área de cocina. Además, puedes dejar tu carro en el estacionamiento del lugar mientras comes, siempre hay alguien que lo vigilara por ti. Solo no olvides dejar una buena propina.

Si eres de Playas de Tijuana seguramente los haz probado, no hay taqueria que se le iguale en Playas. Si no vives cerca, en una visita al malecón o a una de las tantas que hoy en día tiene playas para visitar o hacer deporte, te recomiendo que visites estos tacos.
Cuentan con un personal amable y te super bien, puedes estar en mesas o directamente en la barra. Su adobada tienes que probarla y sus quesadillas de carne asada con tortilla de maíz hecha a mano y frijolitos de la olla es otro rollo. Todos bien servidos con su respectivo guacamole y en buena cantidad.
También tienen tripa, suadero, cabeza y lengua y todo lo que todo lo que preparan esta muy bueno. Para ser tacos no son tan baratos, pero la verdad que cada mordida lo vale. Cuentan con amplio estacionamiento y vigilancia.
Si te sientas en la barra los taqueros rápido te preparan unos pepinos en rodajas con limón y sal, o si prefieres les puedes pedir unas cebollitas con mantequilla que son ideales para acompañar tus tacos. Si no te sientas en la barra se lo puedes pedir a cualquiera de las meseras/​os y te lo llevan.

Tacos el Francés Playas de Tijuana
Anteriormente ya había hablado de taquerías y es que en la ciudad de Tijuana, estos negocios continúan proliferando. En el área de Playas de Tijuana existen uno de gran tradición y además son un punto de referencia geográfico, basta preguntar a cualquier residente de la zona por la ubicación de Tacos el Francés para que rápidamente te oriente.
Es un lugar amplio con servicio de meseros lo cual ya es una diferencia respecto al resto de la mayoría de las taquerías en la ciudad en las que uno come de pie o sentado en una pequeña barra. En este sitio a pesar del alto volumen de clientela que manejan el servicio es rápido, amable y eficiente. El menó ofrece, tostadas, tacos, vampiros, quesadillas de maíz o harina con o sin carne que puede ser como en la mayoría de los sitios de carne asada, adobada, suadero, tripa, cabeza, lengua, cesos y en ocasiones hasta de cachete, además cuentan con una olla de barro que contiene deliciosos frijoles que van muy bien con la mayoría de los tacos. ¿Qué tienen estos tacos que me hacen extrañarlos desde otra ciudad?, me preguntaba. Habiendo vivido en Tijuana en mi niñez, «Los tacos del francés» eran mi añoranza viviendo ya en Monterrey.
No había viernes que falláramos (después de una reunión que teníamos) o que alguien de mi familia y amigos, despreciara estos tacos. ¡Jamás! Desde donde anduviéramos íbamos hasta el final de Playas de Tijuana, desde Colinas de Aguacaliente.
Y es que aunque siempre defiendo que en Monterrey «no somos codos», en los tacos del francés te servían en uno, dos de aquella ciudad, y lo siguen haciendo. La historia no ha cambiado, no obstante ahora hay muchas más taquerías en la ciudad, «estos tacotes» se distinguen.
Abundante carne asada con un sazón muy especial (supongo, receta secreta del chef), tortilla hecha a mano, una buena cucharada de aguacate, frijoles en bola y la salsa que le da el toque final. Por supuesto, no puedes comer sólo uno.
El negocio empezó siendo un puestecito, un carrito. Ahora es todo un restaurante con mesas y bancas. El lugar es atendido por el dueño, el francés, siempre con su característica gorrita. El servicio de primera. Sin duda, de mis tacos favoritos.

Best tacos in Las Playas… shoot…maybe best tacos in all of Tijuana. Bold statement? You bet! Having been all over TJ since I was a kid I’ve tried a ton of taco shops. Some good, some kind of sketchy. El Frances makes some bomb Carna asada, adobada tacos, mulitas. I love how they put a small spoonful of beans in the carna asada tacos. These guys are always busy, always cranking out food. Don’t get discouraged if there is a line. It will go quick. Watch these guys work their taco magic… a handle full of meat, spoon flips of salsa, guacamole, beans. Followed by a dash of onions and cilantro. You will be grinding on some of the best tacos in Baja. Worth the trip and worth the wait.

These tacos are the best tacos in Playas!!! I’ve been eating here since I was a kid and it only gets better each time. The tacos are great and very filling! They come with beans, guacamole, salsa and all that good stuff. The tortillas are AMAZING and made right there. I always order the quesadillas. They are huge!!! This place is always busy, but space always opens up or you can sit at the counter on a stool. They have bathrooms and it is super clean. They have filtered water that you can help yourself to or you can order your favorite soda. On the table they always put cucumbers and salsa. They have a pretty big parking lot next to the taco shop and also about 4 cars can park by the entrance. I bring all my tourist friends here and one of my best memories was when I took my friends from Iran and they loved this place! They said the taste of the food reminded them of their home country. You can pay with pesos or dollars. One other thing I like about this place is that I have heard they are great employers. They close Sundays so everyone has the day off and I think that is awesome because nowadays businesses only care about money usually.

Fact: One of the best taquerias in Tj.
One of my many complaints about taquerias in SD is the price and that you get charged for condiments –bad manners!
If you come here, just as most good taquerias in TJ, you can get a side of guacamole at no cost, as it should be.
Couple tips:
1) Asada tacos come with boiled beans. You can get it without but you have to ask for it.
2) Adobada is by far the best.
3) Sit at the bar for a better experience.
All and all, Tacos El Frances is a top contestant for best tacos ever.

Okay… so you want late night or any time GOOD tacos! This is the place to go. No fuss, no mess, no spending — just good, cheap tasty stuff. The owner is the one that sits at the cash register and greets everyone coming in or going out. The people cooking do a superb job at making the tacos! If you ask for something they will give it to you the way you want it. Unlike other places, they don’t give you a hard time for not speaking Spanish — they can care less.
There is a nice lady outside the spot that sells natural handmade cheese. She is cool. Support her.

Best tacos in Tijuana, HANDS DOWN! You can’t get any better than Tacos El Frances. I’ve been coming here since I was a child and honestly I can’t see myself stopping unless I move away from San Diego/​Tijuana.
The tacos de carne asada are the best! The meat is flavorful and juicy, the salsa is spicy, and if you like guacamole then you’ll be one happy camper. The tacos de adobada are also delicious. The sauce they use to marinate the pork is very flavorful
You can also get tacos de tripas, al pastor, and get quesadillas. Everything is very good. To make this experience even better all the tortillas are hand made! Ugh, just writing this review is making me hungry.
If you’re in Tijuana then you MUST do yourself a favor and come eat tacos here. You won’t regret it.

That’s the sound made by the guy that chops up your taco meat on a wooden chopping block. That’s the sound that makes you drool as you make your way to the best tacos in Tijuana. Trust me, this is as close to Taco Heaven as anyone who doesn’t venture into Central Mexico will ever get.
Sometimes you have to go out of your way to get the best things. This is the case of Tacos El Frances! It is not in the Zona Centro of Tijuana. So get ready to go deeper into Mexico. It all makes sense. The deeper you go into Mexico, the better the food gets.
My family used to come here every time we were in Tijuana. My parents even got to know some of the people that work here.
These are the best tacos I have had in Tijuana by far. The carne asada tacos are what I usually get along with the adobada tacos. The carne asada tacos have a nice clean flame broiled taste to them. You really get to savor the steak they chop up to make them. These tacos are similar in flavor to El Infierno’s tacos in Apatzingan, Michoacan which in my opinion are the best steak/​asada tacos I have ever had! This says a lot about Tacos El Frances! The adobada tacos are marinated pork tacos. They are really good as well. In Tijuana tacos al pastor are known as adobada tacos, but they are not exactly the same. Adobada tacos have a saucy feeling to them in your mouth. Al pastor tacos are drier and have a cleaner taste to them.
The salsas here are also really good. I do not use salsa in my tacos because I do not like spicy food and I like to taste the meat in my tacos.
They serve the tacos in hand made tortillas here. You can’t beat that!
