We ate at El Murmullo located downtown and the food and service was excellent. The Tuna was seared perfectly as requested. The chicken parmigiano was the best! David, our waiter, was not only attentive, but enjoyable. The ambience was perfecto!

We wanted to have a bbq dinner in another restaurant but because it’s low season it was closed unfortunately. So we asked the concierge of our resort and she suggested this restaurant for a very good dinner experience. They were waiting for us and gave us full attention also because being a Monday of low season mid July, the town had very few tourists and the restaurants not busy at all. The very kind and energetic waiter recommended the thai dishes which are very popular there, their restaurant is the only one making them. They also have some italian pastas, dome grilled meat and fish as well as dishes with tequila sauces… But we gave a try to the Thai food which we like. The pad thai was very very good, very fresh and well made. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the preparation was not heavy or too sweet or thick as sometimes the«original» pad thai are. We chose the mixed version, which shrimps beef and chicken and realized that the beef quality was very good. So we decided to order a beef curry to share, instead of the usual chicken that usually we would order. Also this dish was very well made. Zucchini, potatoes and green beans were very fresh and tasty, for sure it’s local stuff. Beef was again very good and tasty. Rice a little overcooked. While eating, more people came to eat at this place, and the dishes we saw were all looking very good. Particularly the thai salad and the tuna(seared) sashimi looked beautiful. I would definitely go back, for the food and also for the service. Prices are also fair. We spent for these three dishes + 1 beer, 1 water and 2 margaritas with Don Julio tequila approx 900pesos(60 $) included tip

The ideal when you return to a place yearly is the hope that the restaurants you’ve enjoyed the year before maintain the same quality. Often this is not so and in the case of this restaurant definitely not so. The spinach salad was just so-so with very tough spinach. The shrimp Pernod was a very small portion of shrimp overcooked and overpriced. The chicken curry was also overcoat and not very tasteful. All in all we were happy to leave and never to return

In contrast to the other post, our experience here has been consistently outstanding. We have eaten here twice this year already. The staff is wonderful: warm, welcoming, engaging. Israel, the owner-chef, runs a tight kitchen. He uses the freshest ingredients and offers specials when available(example, he had beautiful tuna steaks this week, which have been in short supply as the tuna have been so far off the coast). He has a varied menu of Mexican, Italian, Thai and other regional cuisines and he executes all well. We in particular love his Thai vegetable noodle stir ‘fry’, which even our meet loving friends savor. Check it out– I know you will be pleased.
