I downloaded Unilocal just to write this review. Yes, the location and presentation of the restaurant is sub par, and I have seen fairly slow service while waiting for my pick up. BUT… if your after an authentic and delicious indian takeaway, this is the place to go. I have tried many dishes from the menu and have been very impressed. I particularly recommend the lamb sagwala, deliously delicate flavours that form a gorgeous rich gravy… worth a try if you want to explore beyond your usual fave

Very average service. Took around 15 mins for food to come out. We got our drinks after our food. We ordered them at the same time. No water on the table and about three tables just sat uncleared covered in old food. Very quiet restaurant, no music or ambiance. Don’t think we’ll be going back. It’s a shame. Used to be good.

This is the best curry I’ve had in NZ. They will even make you a very hot ‘english’ style curry which is only for the serious hot curry lovers. Highly recommended!

Every now and again you take a chance on a new restaurant, and every now and again you are pleasantly surprised. I found Kohinoor by chance, but now it is one of my favourites. I ordered the lamb Korma and my wife the lamb Biryani, and I can promise you that you will have enough left to cater for at least two more meals. I also ordered poppadoms and naan bread, but unfortunately they forgot to put the poppadoms in the bag, and I forgot to look. I paid for it though. The disappointment was quick forgotten when the food touched my mouth. Between the two dishes, I can assure you that the Korma is by far the best, but I will be back to try the other options on the menu.
