Little bit of a random location but quite convenient for the area I suppose. Décor is modern, service is friendly, bathrooms were clean. Coffee wasn’t too bad but wasn’t fantastic, heard it’s usually better. Menu looks good.

This is the closest café to us and although the food is as awesome as the staff are, I came here with some friends from Christchurch for brunch on Saturday and they were not overly impressed as we had to wait for 45 minutes for the food to come out. Luckily we could order coffees and smoothies to prevent us from starving to death. Next time we will ring ahead to see what the wait time is.

We are local here and this is one of our favorite café around here, they service awesome food(both great cabinet food and menu food), KokaKo coffee include cold brew and great fresh juice. A kid and dog friendly café…

Charlie & George’s surroundings are pretty bleak, all the houses look the same and there isn’t really much around. So it’s a delight that the café is bright and colourful and bustling. We tried the Soup of the day(chicken and corn) and it was delicious. The Eggs Benedict were also great though I thought the hollandaise needed a bit more of a flavour kick. The pea risotto was not as exciting, a little bland. The banoffee smoothie was amazing. It’s highly raved about and I can see why. I can’t wait to go back to try some more of the menu, it’s pretty awesome having a decent café around in the suburbs!

Had the best food and drinks there the first time I went– generous servings, lovely staff, amazing milkshakes. The second time I went, they were understaffed and said there would be a wait time of at least half an hour for food so we left and went elsewhere. The third time we returned, I had the chicken burger with chips– it was okay. Like nothing spectacular, there were maybe 5 chips? And a flavourless crumbed chicken, with not enough sauce in the burger to make it taste of anything. Also slightly frustrated me that when my partner asked to have an egg removed from the buttie he was going to order, he was told that the chef doesn’t like to go off the menus– came off a little rude as we were paying customers who don’t like eggs. So after that Charlie and George went from being my new favourite café that I’m happy to spend a little more with to just another average café with relatively high prices for what you end up getting. Probably won’t return.

In a neighborhood full of families with kids, you would expect a kids menu. But not here. When we asked, we were told they could make regular menu items in half portions. So we tried to order a child’s portion of porridge, and we’re told NO they couldn’t do that. At least make a kids menu of the items you will make in a kids portion. Even the food in the case is not kid friendly. The hash cakes and smoothies are nice, but we won’t be back until they have a better kids offering.

Already a local Gem, Charlie & George delivers awesome café food in a friendly and relaxed environment. Outside the kids have space to play and chalk to draw on the pavement. They are friendly for dogs with water bowls provided. Better still it’s a 2 minute walk from my house making it largely perfect for a quick Saturday morning breakfast. They can get exceptionally busy on weekend mornings where service can sometimes be a little slow because of it, but sit back and relax, there’s no rush.

great food, great service, good parking, lots of high chairs. The cabinet was stuffed with yummy looking sandwiches, savouries and of course cakes and slices. I had the raspberry lamington and banana bran muffin. seemed to be cheaper then I was expecting too… yus!

When in Auckland, I follow my local friends to this sweet little café just outside the downtown core. Even in Auckland there’s plenty of hipster pretension at some of the downtown, Parenll and Remuera cafes. Not at this place. Charlie and George’s is the real thing. Truly high quality coffee. And meals which seem to defy the term«café». The waffle chicken dish may be one of the better plates I’ve tasted anywhere. Just outstanding, creative cooking. The chef at this place has created something much more than café food. These are creative, inventive meals with real favors — NOT just crumpets and jam. Sometimes they have these amazingly beautiful cookies baked by a small, local baker. Yum. Yum. I’ll be back on my next visit. Thank you to the C&G team for always making me feel so welcome.

On my first visit they messed up my coffee order not once but TWICE with the table next door, which left both myself and the woman across from me questioning if we had in fact received each other’s order. At least we had a good chuckle at their expense. Also, the vege salad I ordered looked nice in the cabinet but once it arrived it was drowned in a very sugary emulsified dressing and was at least 1⁄3 potatoes. Yuck.

This is one of my favourite places to eat in my local area. The food and service are always great. I’ve had the big breakfast, eggs benedict, omelette, lunch burgers and salads at various different times. They’ve all been great portion sizes, really tasty and made with fresh ingredients. The coffee is usually pretty good but every now and then a bit hit-and-miss(although I’ve never said anything but I’m sure they’d make it again). The décor is nice and rustic for being in a sub-division and the service is great. This place is always packed on the weekends, so I’m sort of loathe to share the review but this place really is one of the great cafes in the area.

Not that down with the Pleasantville surroundings but I am down with Charlie & George. I recently stopped here for breakfast on the way to an early meeting in Mt Wellington. Having spent next to no time in the area, I was stoked to find C&G, and even more stoked when I walked in and saw they use Kokako beans. For brekkie, I ordered the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, which came out with dressed salad of rocket, onion and capers. I usually prefer such accompaniments on my bagel, undressed, but with the generous amount of salmon and C. C already on there I totally forgot about it. Also, they mix fresh herbs through their cream cheese — big tick in my book. Perhaps, what stood for me the most though, was the service. Just little things — like the barista chatting to me while she made my coffee, bringing over water as soon as I sat down or asking how my meal was part way through — sometimes it’s just the little things that make all the difference. On a final note, they have terrariums for table numbers!

The coffee is great and so is the design and atmosphere of the café. However we were a bit disappointed on the food in terms of taste and presentation. The order was very quickly served but it lacked the presentation n taste that I look for in a Saturday brunch. I don’t need to rush and would appreciate a lovely presented brunch. The egg benny ordered was bland and do not stand to the usual café standard in that price range.

Finally, after waiting for what seems like forever, we have a café in Stonefields! Charlie & George is everything the residents of the new city suburb have been waiting for. The café is light, with a bubbly atmosphere and great interior design. There’s a great dynamic between staff and customers, and wait times are never a problem. Good coffee, great food, indoor and outdoor seating options. My recommendation — have brunch outside in the sun, or grab a coffee to go and enjoy it walking around the Stonefields boardwalk by the lake.
