Chocolate Earth’s gone pink! This is about the only place I can recommend on the Shore if you’re not a baker and need a celebration cake. Either order something special or just choose from the cabinet, always a selection. I like the white chocolate caramel. I believe their signature chocolate cake has a special ingredient, beetroot. Good place to pick up cake decorating bits and pieces, coloured fondant and chocit(a new product in the cake decorating world).

I am so disappointed in myself… I mean, who goes to a specialty chocolate shop full of delicious handmade chocolates, and walks out instead with a lemon meringue pie and no chocolate in hand?! Hey, sometimes the taste buds have a serious yearning for something tart, sweet, light and crunchy all at the same time. With a crumbly shortbread shell encasing the tangy, custardy lemon filling and then covered in a toasty, marshmellowy meringue, the Lemon Meringue Pie($ 5.50) certainly tasted as good as it looked. My only problem is that we were provided with disposable plastic cutlery, which made cutting through the pastry an unusually difficult task. Apart from the chocolate confections and desserts(displayed both in the cabinets), Chocolate Earth also has the standard assortment of café-style drinks. They make a great cappuccino; delightfully creamy and a little bold with a velvety milk foam brimming at the top of the takeaway cup. The provision of disposable utensils and lack of seating(two small tables outside) really narrows Chocolate Earth to a grab-and-go kind of place. But fear not, the beach is only a quick stroll away. I will be back for the chocolates!

The shop is small but quirky. The chocolates are unique and boutique so you will pay $ 3.00 for a little yummy chocolate. Cakes are fresh and full of chocolate flavour. If you are a chocolate lover or want a special gift for someone, then this is the place to go to.

Chocolate craving alert… In I go to Chocolate Earth. This shop’s really quite small but it’s got a lot of character. There’s some absolutely amazing looking cakes inside and cool little packages and things too. I popped in just before Easter and thought the little buckets of Easter chocolate treats were very cool! While there I thought I’d grab a treat(of course). It was a difficult decision really. They only have quite big chocolates in the bite size range. They’re $ 3 each and although they may not look like much they’re rich, creamy and bigger than they seem. I couldn’t even finish my chocolate hazelnut one, which I was told is the most popular choice of chocolate nibble. Next time I come I want to try one of the small cheesecakes. They’re around $ 6 and come in this circular cup thing. They look awesome!
