First time visiting the dine in. Food is good and proportions are good too. Ambience is nice and the service is courteous. Good value for money. Worth visiting again.

Dum Mast is a bit oddly placed, next to a video rental place and a liquor store, so I’d overlooked it for quite a while. I finally went in quite late the other night after a movie, and was pleasantly surprised. I had a perfectly-spiced paneer dish(it’s so nice to ask for medium-hot and actually get it), and it was outstanding. Plus our waiter was so sweet and friendly, and even told us all about the intriguing display of black and white photos covering the wall near the sofas where you can wait for your take-away. Apparently they’re a kind of family tree of the Mast family, and I like personal touches like that in a restaurant. The chef at Dum Mast freshly grinds all his own spices, and you can tell when you sample the dishes — there’s none of that cheap, mass-produced flavour you often find with some Indian food. That’s probably why Dum Mast has so many Indian customers, which is always a good sign in an Indian restaurant!
