I love this place for their well priced Phoenix gluten free range. They do the best bread and biscuits and they are not stocked in that many locations, I’m totally impressed Eden Foods keeps their prices reasonable. The location is a good one right in the heart of St Helier’s where I’m sure the elderly of the area really take advantage of this gem. Mainly I see young people and families in here buying ice creams, picking up bread or one of their infamous almond croissants which are kept at the counter. Eden foods also has a super good range of quality items. It’s bigger than your typical dairy and had all of the good stuff on hand. The staff here are courteous and kind.

Eden Foods is the closest thing St Heliers has to a ‘dairy’ since the old one around the corner closed a few years ago. The reason why I’m saying this is that it has all the stuff you’d expect a dairy to have — bread, ice cream, milk, magazines, etc; however it doesn’t stop there. Eden Foods in fact have aisles of cooking ingredients, including an organic and gluten free section, and they also have some fruits and vegetables at the front, some beers and wine at the back, and they are a lotto retailer as well. So basically they are a cross between a dairy and supermarket, which can be super handy if you live in the area and don’t have the time to head to the closest supermarket(however do note their prices are of course a little bit higher).

Eden Foods is the perfect place to dash up to if you’re looking for a snack or a drink while you’re on the beach, or to stock up for a special meal involving a recipe slightly more complicated than you would usually attempt, most probably from a foreign cookbook. It’s that kind of place. It’s kind of like my dream of what every supermarket would be. Small but still with plenty in it, limited ranges but all the nicest brands are there, hard-to-find ingredients and quality stock, and a little bit of everything and not too much of anything. In case you hadn’t already gathered, I really like shopping at Eden Foods. It’s a friendly, quiet little shop that’s extremely popular with locals to the area. The prices are perhaps slightly higher than a big warehouse-type supermarket, but a lot of the time that’s because they’re selling more niche, local brands. Which is great.
