Holiday Inn

Easy to check in, easy to check out. Secure parking and no charge. Room was very clean and nice touch to have a spare toothbrush and paste in the bathroom. Décor generally is tired. Staff are helpful and efficient. Would stay here again. And join the loyalty program, it’s free and gives you free internet access.

This hotel is well located close (kind of) to the airport. The problem is taxi’s are annoyed and charge $ 20+ to bring you here as it is too close as they would prefer a fare to the city, but for people that don’t have a rental car a yellow bus service is used to drop you off which you have to buy a ticket for from a ticket machine where the bus picks you up, and you could be waiting 30min in beautiful Auckland weather at midnight (if that is what time your plane gets in). The bus also services other hotels which takes a little bit of time to drop of or pick up people at.
The hotel rooms are ok and clean for the price, most showers are in the bath and the hotel really hasn’t had a good make over for quite some time (before it changed to a holiday inn).
The restaurant is a bit pricey seen as though their waiters don’t remember orders and are not very attentive. Also the meals are large, but generally, just a lot of filler food (potato’s etc). If you like meat that is cooked properly (if you like it under medium well and don’t want a pool of blood to come wit it) go elsewhere.

Been in NZ for nearly two weeks. This place offered the best service in the entire country!
