Most people love Icebreaker, and they love it even more when they don’t have to pay full price. So the best place to get on the bargain merino bandwagon is to check out the outlet store near the airport. Although the prices are still on the high side, it’s cheaper there than in usual stores and stockists, and now and then they do have some pretty sweet sales. The downside is that it’s a bit out of the way unless you already live over there or are on your way to or from the airport. The other thing is that although I love merino products, Icebreaker garments — although made from NZ merino — are actually made in China. Which is a bit sad since I’d rather support NZ-made products.
