We stopped in to the Kawau Yacht Club when we were spending a week on Kawau Island. The island is awesome, but after a few days us Aucklanders were in need of some civilisation.
It’s a Yacht Club like no other as you literally rock up in your boat and tie up to the wharf. We went in on a hot summer’s day and got iceblocks but you can also have a night there at the bar or just stock up on supplies. A lot of people stop here to fill up their petrol and water tanks and there are showers there for Yacht Club members.
The building is super cute and classical painted all in white. We sat out on the deck for ages just taking in the scenery, I’d love to go back at night when all the boat lights are twinkling.
