Gorgeous space. Delicious food. Very nice coffee. The ambiance is so airy in here, lots of friends catching up over a coffee and snack. Had one of their tasty salads and was not disappointed. No iced coffee, but the long black was delicious. A favourite in Ponsonby.

The place is stunning and so relaxing for a sunday or any days breakfast. All painted in white & and very nicely decorated. And as soon as you walk in you can see all the pastries, and your mouth starts melting. Raspberries Donut, Tarts, Quiche and so one… Everything looks delicious and actually is. Go for the Donut or Croissant and you wont be disappointing. A bit of a downside is the tables and chairs settings, it is always packed and the tables are not cleaned on the spot. Also while the service at the counter is good, the service at the table is pretty non-existent. Which is create a messy feeling. Dirty dishes stacked on tables, no cutlery etc. Food is good, but there are still few things to improve to make the experience as good as… Dear Jervois for Example !

They really should call it medium and everyday. As wholesome as the original café in Belmont and as lily white, complete with blue plastic dinosaurs, the Ponsonby branch of L&F does not disappoint. A wee walk from the hubbub of Ponsonby Road, the place is buzzing with locals and travelers at all hours but there is definitely more room than at their store in Newmarket. The cabinet menu is the same as Belmont and Newmarket — don’t stare at Auckland’s best doughnuts for they will win and you will leave with a tinge of regret and a happily full stomach. The daily menu is limited and not the most economical, but that’s because what is made is so fresh and full of quality all the way. The coffee’s faultless, there are magazines in case you get bored and an ample supply of striped people to gaze at over your ‘OMG I can’t believe this is so good’ and summery Nectarine tart. L&F is an Auckland classic that never goes out of style.

Oh man. This has been on my list my last two visits and now that they’ve taken over the Good One lease space I was sold we had to come rain or shine. Yesterday we rolled in at about 3:20 and were immediately told if we wanted anything it had to be takeaway because they were closing soon. I assume that means 4 pm close but It seemed a) a bit disappointing to be greeted that way; and b) like if I got take away I wouldn’t get the whole L&f experience. To be fair I was pretty hangry by this point in my day… We called it a miss and left but I was pretty bummed. So this morning rolled back in for a brunch date, a bit begrudgingly on my part as I had a bit of a bad taste in my mouth from the day before. I’m so glad my husband insisted we go back. Omg best breakfast I’ve had in ages. First off the atmosphere is everything I loved about Good One and so that just gets a win right off the bat. Bright white everything, tons of windows and natural light and open space. Lots of green plants, wood — mm yep all on point. The selection of food was overwhelming — there really was something for everyone! Vegetarian, sugar free, gluten free, dairy free — all was labelled and so this would be a great place for lunch or brunch with friends who have dietary restrictions. Our food was phenomenal. I had the potato rosti with smoked hock bacon, a soft boiled egg and watercress cilantro avocado salad($ 22). I ate all of it and felt like the fattest human alive afterward. So much food but I refused to waste it. Husband had the avocado toast with lime, cilantro and goat cheese($ 18). Perfectly seasoned. Priced a bit high but you could taste the freshness and quality. Flat whites were on point. Coffee supreme, beautiful latte art, and perfectly steamed milk. Mmmmmm! Can’t wait to come back

Came here with my wife for breakfast. It’s located in a spot where you wouldn’t think a café is, but believe me, it’s there. Great food, and great coffee. Only complaint is I wish the menu had few more options. Water with cinnamon and mint was a great touch!

If you like space, plenty of natural light and good food you’ll like this Little and Friday. Hauling a couple of packs I don’t think I was the typical customer here, which the surprised looks from staff seemed to confirm. Rather, as the other Unilocalers have suggested, this is more a laid-back yet classy place for civilised catching up with friends, meetings or just chilling out. Unfortunately such sessions can’t be wifi-enabled as I discovered to my cost(I should have checked it on Unilocal beforehand…). The food and drink, in my case a breakfast bap, plate of salad and flat white were all pretty good, if slightly pricier than the one $ rating currently suggested. The staff were friendly and the music good(Supertramp amid others). This Little and Friday was recommended by a couple of Aucklander friends as their go-to place and I can see why.

Honestly I still feel Good One Café shadow here in the new opening Little&Friday. Open space counts. Soft light from the high ceiling counts. Little green pops on the table by your side counts. Industrial interior is actually not too stiff. It is people who come and go delights the whole place. You can order without menu if you are quite a Little&Friday fan. Quiche, fritters, the Donuts, salad… Almost every little bite is an apple of the eye. And of course some tastebuds surprise. Coffee is regular comparing to Good One, however, try organic tea with kiwiana flavour such as Kawakawa herbal tea, refreshing for your carbohydrates lunch bite. People make eye contact or even start a real conversation by the long table. You just enjoy this harmony created by a coffee place. Yes. We are all connected through food. Don’t we? ^^

Finally a L & F where your chances of getting a seat are legit. I’m yet to go on the weekend though… I’ve always loved this space. Without meaning to sound naff, it epitomises industrial cool. The concrete floors, high ceilings and duck egg blue roller door say it all really. What I love most about is how generous the space is. It doesn’t feel like you eating on your neighbours lap, which makes it perfect for business meetings. So far, i’ve only had coffee — and it’s on point — but they also have the to-be-expected cabinet full of their delectable baked goods. They also have a smaller version of their menu at the Belmont Store but I warn you, it’s pretty small.

Over the moon with the latest addition to Ponsonby! Little and Friday is the perfect place for a weekend treat! My mouth waters looking at all the amazing delights they have on offer. My most recent purchase was the beetroot, chocolate and salted caramel cake, coconut and lemon cake and banana and caramel cake. And no they weren’t just for me! Highly recommend them all. They have a range of foods from savoury tarts, sandwiches, donuts, brioche and delish Supreme coffee too. Has taken over where The Good One was on Douglas Street — such a great space with lots of natural light and a great ambiance.

It’s only Wednesday but already dreaming of Friday… WELCOME //to the new kids on the block Little & Friday //Officially opening today and taking over Douglas Street where Good One use to thrive. Little and Friday has transformed and given new life to one of my old favourite coffee hang outs. Still serving Coffee Supreme my filter brew was so delicious and warming on this miserable day. How cool is this mug too! The perfect little hand warmer! Little and Friday is famous for its insanely delicious baked goods! Their cakes and pastries are like nothing you have experienced before and will send your tasted buds into a spin. The DONUTS would have to be the thing I recommend if you were going to try something! If you haven’t had a Little and Friday Donut you have not lived. The menu here also looks divine with some great little breakfast options to go along with that coffee. This is Little and Fridays fourth store to open with Belmont, Newmarket and the CBD all thriving and being great successes. So if you are in the area pop down to Douglas Street and check out it’s great new addition grab yourself a coffee and a donut and enjoy a little bit of Friday on a Wednesday
