With the high rate of drowning in New Zealand, I’ve decided to take my son for swimming lessons at the Northern Arena in Silverdale. Michael is 9 months old, and he absolutely loves the experience, and more importantly, he is becoming comfortable in the water.
The swim schoolteachers are gentle with the babies, and it is a real mommy and me session. But for the few Mr. Moms like me, dads are more than welcome to join in. Elena handles the babies on a Thursday, and she really makes the experience worth its while. Sessions cost about fifteen Dollars per session, and sessions are 30 minutes in duration.
