I’ve eaten here in the past but most recently stopped in for a tea. The staff are friendly when it’s not busy and I like that they have street side seating so you could bring your dog. Inside it’s got tired décor and although it seems very kid-friendly it could do with a clean up. I swear I could smell urine around the booth seats, the staff were in the midst of cleaning up a huge pile of food rubble from children. The food has always been reasonably solid, nothing amazing and a lack of gluten free in the cabinet.

One of my favourite. I lived across from this café for like 3 months and didn’t go there once. I am totally regretting it now. Is always pumping in the weekend, so get in early. But they are super fast with your orders. Get your coffee and cooked breakfast food all in under 15 mins most of the time. Exceptional. Love the eggs benedict = my favourite. Got to try their famous hash brown(giant), the kids will love it.

We have been regulars to Orvieto for a number of years. We are always impressed by their service and speed in the delivery of your coffee! The menu doesn’t seem to change much if at all, but why mess with something that obviously works, and we enjoy the selection of food choices. Blackboard selection and cabinet. My partner likes a good Caesar and has sampled a few over the years and Orvieto’s has always ranked highly compared to others. Being a dog friendly café is also a bonus for those of us with fur children. I like the space(even though we generally sit outside with the dog!) and if there is no parking along the street you can nip around into Duke Street and park behind the café. Overall great coffee, efficient service and consistent quality of good food.

I’m surprised I haven’t been to Orvieto before. There is little to complain about this place. After having heard about this café for a few years I decided to celebrate my birthday breakki there with some mates. Booked in for a 7:30 catchup enroute to work and the quick service and prompt order taking and delivery was spectacular. I have been to cafés before in groups of over 10 and you usually have to wait for ages to get your orders out to you. This is the perfect place for when you are in a group but don’t want to spend ages waiting to be served. The meals arrived within 10 mins of ordering and was well presented and quite yummy. The veggie eggs bene was better than other places I have tried and my friends liked the mush on toast and the Spanish Omelette. Would def recommend this place and will be visiting again very shortly. Ps. Forgot to mention, the coffee was quite good as well.

A nice clean neighborhood breakfast joint on the Balmoral side of Mt Eden. They have some tables on the sidewalk and if the weather is nice they can open their bi-fold windows so that even if sitting inside you get the fresh air and light. Food ordering is done at the counter and then you take your number and grab a table so they can deliver your food. There is no table service except for delivery of your food. Coffees were good and the breakfast was simple and well prepared. However, I can only give it 3-stars because the breakfast menu was very standard, the prices are mid-range to expensive(power breakfast is $ 19.50) and there is nothing creative or inventive on the menu. Of particular disappointment is the sausage they serve with the Power Breakfast… it was clearly inexpensive and the most rudimentary of breakfast sausages. I wouldn’t recommend making a trip out of your way to visit Orvieto unless they step-up their game on the food choices and creativity. However, if you are in the area and it is convenient, the food and coffee is good and it’s a nice clean space.

I know a lot of people adore Orvieto and while it’s perfectly adequate, there are better places. The food is not unusual or special in any way and if you are on the run, the cabinet is less than appealing. The coffee is ok and the service minimalistic so they do what they do competently and that’s it. I guess the real drawcard here is for the local dog walkers from nearby Big King Reserve(a designated off-leash park) as it’s super dog-friendly. In fact it’s almost impossible to walk past here on a sunny morning without literally having to weave your way around canines, leashes and bowls of water. With their owners all parked up having a gossip and refreshment, it’s actually a pretty funny sight. So come here if you have a dog and/or are not too fussy.

When my friend first suggested we go to Orvietto for breakfast, I headed to Mount Eden Village. What cafes were there anywhere else on Mt Eden Road? By the time we actually got to Orvietto I was extra hungry and I think our friendship had lost a few points of mutual respect. Once we got a seat outside, however, everything melted away. Well, until we had to go inside to order and pay — as they dont do table service. Maybe this is a result of the area and the ease of opportunity to run away, but it is a bit annoying having to go up and pay just to get a coffee. However, I had only just made it back to my seat and the coffee was already out — and this is when the café was bustling. Orvietto make coffees quickly and well. The menu is full of great sounding dishes — I settled for the scallop salad and it was beyond what I expected and very well portioned, especially for under 20 dollars. The only thing stopping Orvietto from getting 5 stars is the lack of table service.

I think this café maybe a bit of a well kept secret as it is located past the village on Mt Eden Road, closer to Three Kings. A spacious café with lots of seating, Orvieto are always well stocked with newspapers, magazines and jugs of water. It has everything you could want in a café. Excellent, fast service — even when the café is busy you never wait long for your order or even a table. The food is all really tasty, when I took a friend for breakfast she commented it was up there with the best eggs benedict she had ever had. I can also recommend the cabinet food and vouch for their delicious sweet treats. And of course, last but not least, I do always enjoy my coffee from Orvieto. Close to the Big King reserve, pop in after your next walk and bring your dog as they are welcome to sit out the front too.

I was looking for somewhere to have a light lunch with my ma and pa and found Orvieto not far from where we live. Even though it’s located on the busy Mt Eden Rd, I didn’t notice the cars at all where we sat, outside in the sun. The service was attentive and friendly and the food came nice and quickly. My Dad and I ordered the Bruschetta and my Mum ordered the poached eggs, which looked delicious! As for the Bruschetta I believe I can be confident enough to say that it was one of the best I’ve had. The flavours were rich but perfectly balanced, I would absolutely recommend it, so so yummy. The décor was nice and modern as well as full of natural light which I always enjoy in a café setting.
