J’adore toute décor Française! This small 2 room boutique has many options to help create a French inspired room. There are chandeliers, mirrors, skeleton keys, door coat hangers, apothecary jars, furniture and most of all my favorite, vintage linens. There are also vintage clothing pieces, hats, feathered items and the like. The owner regularly travels to the Bordeaux region of France to source her items. So check the website regularly for new arrivals. Or just do what I do and be a window stalker and walk by daily. There is also a larger shop in Glenfield which houses the bigger furniture pieces. I’m not sure I should go there just yet, I might be too tempted.

Inviting little shop with tasty goodies, let down by over-the-top prices and borderline false advertising. This is a girly candle/kitchenware/gorgeous wee things type of shop, tiny but tastefully laid out, but everything was just slightly higher priced than you’d find in other places — case in point, I saw some glassware there that I know for a fact I can buy cheaper in Howick. But what really got up my nose was things labelled as ‘vintage’ and even ‘antique’, when in fact they were clearly brand new. In particular, I turned one ‘antique’ object over to discover a Made in China sticker(all shiny and new at that) on the bottom. Oh come on. Are we idiots? You have to say ‘antique style’ to get away with that, and even then, don’t price the things as antiques when they clearly aren’t!

I just discovered this little shop yesterday when I went for lunch at Sliced Lunch bar and it’s really really cute. I was glad I was with my Mum at the time because it was just her cup of tea. It’s a very shabby chic style store stocking both authentic vintage and vintage ‘inspired’ items. They had this beautiful children’s swing hanging outside, what made it so amazing was that the ropes holding the swing up were made to look like vines with white roses growing off it(I know I would have killed to have one of those when I was little). The lady working there politely said hello when we walked in but then pretty much left us up to browsing ourselves which I like, I don’t really like to be disturbed whilst shopping. I loved the collection of non-prescription reading glasses that they had here. They are a German brand and they had lots of different colours and styles on display which I thought looked so cool it kind of made me want glasses. My Mum ended up purchasing a door hook which the lady kindly wrapped in tissue and put in a sweet little bag. I really love this shop and will definitely come back for gifts or just to look around.

This shop has so much potential — quaint, French country chic with oodles of lovely little ornaments and decorations. But my beef is the unfriendly service. Last time I stopped in here with my boyfriend(and, having just moved house I was definitely in the mood to buy something new and lovely) the lady behind the counter barely acknowledged us, proceeded to have a loud, personal conversation on the phone which ended in raised voices, and still didn’t even raise an eye to us as we exited the shop. Having worked in retail before, I was not impressed with this type of customer service.

This would usually totally not be my scene, which is kinda why i’m so impressed by it. This is a store filled with pretty things. Jewelry, trinkets, furnitire, clothing, homeware — basically anything that’s prettyful is wlecome. I went in here this last Christmas to get a present for mum. We had visited the shop awhile ago and she wanted pretty much everything in it, so I thought it was a safe bet. And I was right. While a lot of the stuff is a bit too flouncy for me, there are actually quite a few cool things, one-offs you’re not likely to see again. I ended up getting mum a really cool necklace which she loved, but theer were definitely a number of options. I would visit this place again for sure and I think you should too. The service is good and it’s not too expenny. A perfect gift-buying destination.

I popped in here one day when visiting the wonderful Sliced Lunch Bar in Richmond Road. I have actually driven past and admired it on several occasions so it was exciting to finally be able to go inside and have a fossick around. This is a homewares/antiques/gift/vintage clothing/treasure shop, bursting with gorgeous and girly pretty things and the owner is so clever that she also has a sister store in Glenfield. One wall is a dedicated to a rack of carefully chosen perfect vintage clothing specimens, priced from around $ 100 plus. There is no need to plough through duds here to find the gems; all the hard work has been done and each piece is perfect and beautiful. The changing room is a pink princess-canopied corner cubicle, straight from a fairytale. The main common influence is shabby chic French and there are several pieces of furniture which no doubt change as things are sold. I fell in love with a whitewashed curvy French dressing table which would undoubtedly be mine, if only I had the spare $ 1750 to buy it. There are linens, quilts, scarves, jewellery, glassware, dinnerware, wall art, books(Vintage Wedding Style caught my eye), knobs and handles and more. They even have a range of imported French soaps, skincare and candles. I could honestly have spent hours(and clearly thousands of dollars) in this shop and would it recommend it for gift buying, particularly for the woman in your life with a flowery French vintage aesthetic. Like me… if any of my loved ones are reading!
